    Cost of a GOOD 30"x40" ciba print can exceed $500 1990's U$D. Been there done this more than a few times making ciba prints from 5x7 ( ~28" x 40" )or 8x10 (~30" x 40").

    Color 4x5 sheet film typically cost $4-6 each sheet or about $55 per 10 sheet box, B&W film about half that cost.

    "Pro tip"... if the interior area to be images IS that dark, apply battery powered flashlights as needed. This can aid greatly to focusing on the GG.

    AOV alone is not a good way to make lens focal length -vs- film/imager size as lens focal length remains the lens focal length.

    Or the 800mm lens will always remain a 800mm lens, 105mm lens...

    Schneider M-Componon.. which is a reverse mounted Componon in shutter as supplied by Schneider. Easier in many ways to reverse mount a GOOD enlarging lens with a on-camera shutter .... like Sinar....

    Optical performance limited by the film flatness of 8x10 (always a serious issue), then diffraction limits at f22 and smaller apertures. Uber high contrast can be achieved via modern multi-coatings.....
