The sensor isn't much larger than a 24x36mm full-frame or 35mm camera so figure on your 35mm focal lengths plus maybe a 1/3 more, just to ballpark.
The problem with using a lens intended for 4x5...
The border was distracting, something MicMojo would do....
It's all in the lighting and film development ~ of the current choices left.
If you're scanning and working digitally then you wouldn't even want to develop your film too harshly, you'd still err...
Ansel was kind of promiscuous with his gear ;-p I have seen photos of him from the 70s using a Husky QuickSet and an early 4x5 Arca-Swiss (the kind with the plastic parts). That was nice enough gear...
Hmm my previous HPs and Canons never won any loyalty from me... I think they all are built cheaply and are designed to waste expensive ink.
All is well now... sort of, kind of like how you feel...
I see some references to techniques where you either remove and soak the heads or inject them with cleaners. Anyone have any experience with this?
How about finding service? I live in Upstate NY.
You could always hire Drew to carry a small RV up to your campsite.

Those little wide angle cameras with the fixed back and no rear swings/tilts had me thinking in that frame of mind.
Haven't used my R3000 for a month but install a new PK (pro black) cart right before we left town in July... now the PK head is blocked up and 5x nozzle cleanings haven't budged it.
Is it better...
Brian, you should know by now that tilts and swings have nothing to do with keeping your subjects looking parallel in your photos unless you are using indirect movements to achieve greater rise/fall...
If it was Bill Clinton it would work (referencing the Platon Esquire cover).

I've stripped the side-mounted Kalhart rangefinder off old Crown Graphics - no big deal - but how should I attack a top rangefinder model? What's underneath that brittle old plastic?
Phil, just to circle back, you know my work already. What I do is eliminate all the clutter, I sell anything I don't use because it bugs me to know that I left such-and-such at home or I'm too lazy...

Jeezum that's not dynamic range, that's candy-a$$ faux Velvetta post-processing.... You can do that with film too, just smoke some crack before you sit down to Photoshop.
Photoshop would be an even better solution.
At least it sounds like it was all unexposed, that's the bright side. And you learned your lesson!
A lens would be helpful, for tabletop at least ;-p
Get rid of all the excess baggage you can to be unencumbered and guilt free. Almost any photo gear can be purchased used should you decide you want it for a real purpose. Do the same with other...
You have to get a lot closer before bellows factor would be a factor...

Which works better? Calling your female subjects, "Honey" or, "Babe"?
I'm sympathetic to your plight but one advantage of shooting large format with a boner is that you always have a convenient...

Most of the tripods mentioned here are overkill for a light 4x5 - most people end up getting a dedicated tripod for 8x10 and a lighter version for 4x5.
I use a RRS ball head and legs for 4x5. It...
