Years ago...one of my wedding photographer friends had a suspicious habit of cleaning lenses with the back of his necktie. Turns out that he had a piece of ultra soft chamois sewn in at that...
Have been curious about the Apo-Symmar "L" line of lenses...but cannot seem to find much experienced-based info. on them...how they perform, coverage, etc. Anyone?
Another t-shirt fan here...but I must stay those Wanderer dark cloths look well thought out. I like the lightweight model, and the draw-cord with adjustable chinch should allow for a quick, smooth...
Great to hear about your LF resurrection!...which begs an obvious question - will you outfit your overland cruiser with some kind of darkroom capacity? Just wondering!
Jeesh...sounds like kind of a shaky arrangement - like I'd better make some more room in my freezer!
These days: about 80% 16x20, 10% 20x30, 5% 30x40, and 5% 40x60...all wet-darkroom prints.
Large prints can be powerful too! :)
Rob Gray (GRAYnomad) - great images...and bravo to you for cutting the cord all those years ago and hitting the road!
You and I must be close in age (I'm also a '54) - and while I feel I've been...
Ha! Back in the early 1980's...there was a company that sold "the absolute best," "revolutionary new design" contact print frames, which featured two (or three, I forget) lengths of what looked like...
Nothing untoward in this particular video (lens groups had been removed prior to the video)...and the level of care exhibited was very high, and, while not exactly a "clean room" environment, the...
The slow speeds on the Copal 1 shutter on my favorite (210mm Sironar-N) lens have been sluggish for some time…but I never seem to be able to part with this lens for more than a few days - so the...
Jim...congrats! You've worked long and hard for this and are so deserving of any and all accolades!
Again...I hope I can make it out sometime, and until then...all the best to you and yours.
Given this very sensible additional feature...I'll be giving this meter a much closer look!
Thanks...I tried calling several times - only to be told that "your problem cannot be solved by phone."
But many thanks for the link. A but busy right now - but will try it out...
Yup...tried that also - but the numbers were then separated automatically into the appropriate groups.
Thanks JP...just the way I feel (a bit jealous) when viewing your ethereal tree branches - great use of those vintage lenses!
My wife and myself have been going to Monhegan for years...but I can...
Cannot sign in to my account. My password is correct but the phone number listed to receive texts is my landline, and when I try to change this to my cell, it then says that "we do not accept this...
Thanks for the comments...and do take note, that I've just started a "Post Your Trees!" thread in the smaller format section!
Just about to post this one on the LF "Post Your Trees!" thread, but felt guilty about this MF image, so am starting another one here for smaller formats. At any rate, I'll start with mine...from...
Currently Using:
Sheet Films: 85% FP-4, 10% TMY, 5% TMX/Delta-100 120: Currently 100% TMY No longer using 35mm (but I've held on to one Leica M-6...just in case!)

Maybe use the Chamonix hood with a pair of 4X reading glasses? Not a magnification typically available at the local pharmacy...but I ordered mine through an optician for twelve dollars.
But...
While these duct-vent "helper" fans might not be powerful enough (for darkroom venting), especially when placed at the beginning of such a long and curvy run, I think the fact that you have three of...

Jim, am I correct in seeing that you've had success with sheets in open trays?
Tundra...I would also like to applaud your efforts here...and for sharing some results/insights with us - "grousing and arguing" notwithstanding!
To me, this forum provides a great vehicle for...
Excellent writeup...thank you!
Two questions: One - did you end up with a "preferred" film?
And two - did you ever try any one or all of these (EMA, Semi-Stand, Stand) with a single negative...
Have not read this whole thread...but just to throw a curveball - what about your easel blades/hold downs? Are they painted, smooth, clean, rust-free? Just wonderin'.
Ic-racer...I see that your Reveni meter features a hotshoe mount (which is what I'd want for my MF/RF's) - but the meter itself looks different than that featured in the KS promo. Is that an earlier...
...would love to see some pix - when you get a chance!
...or getting too emulsional!
Hans, thanks for the reference! After going to the Solex site and looking over specifications...I've ordered four of these (29 watt, 3000K, frosted) bulbs, and look forward to trying them out!
hmmm...might consider this if it could be mounted onto the hotshoes of my Fuji/Voigtlander 667's. Actually, given the small size and light weight...a shoe mount should be an option I think,...
Many thanks for all of the well informed, insightful responses. As I’d mentioned, I had already arrived at what was, for awhile at least, a very effective print evaluation setup…allowing for dry...
A bit alarming and I’d like to share…that recently it feels like I’m having a bit of trouble in assessing various parameters (density, contrast, etc.) of test strips and wet prints.
Might this...
GChu - nice...but if you could create a front standard to allow for each lens to swing (axially) and shift (laterally), then you could adjust the interocular distance and aim points - which would...
Anybody have problems with excess scratching during tray development...due to sharp ridges created by cutting down LF film? Just wondering.
Here is my “backdraft” ventilation setup:
Photo 1 - two runs of 6” flexible heater pipe, running from two 4x12 boxes cut into the sink shelf, and up to a "Y" connector and up to the fan:

Jeesh...I'm kind of embarrassed to show this here - but I figured I'd better double-post it so anyone who'd read my "Up off the Mat" thread in the business section could follow up. At any rate...I'd...
Here my first rendition of the "Frozen Waterfall" print I'd referred to above. When I first viewed this print...my response was "this is garbage!" But then I started to like it a bit more. But...
Drew...I think you're right. My cardinal sin? Not thoroughly testing the Bergger film prior to my Zion trip - so I basically fell back on my "tried and true" exposure scenario for FP-4. ...
