I've been getting acquainted with an azalea bush in my front yard. It's just begun to bud so I took one of my Koronas (the 4x5) and shot some full-extension closeups. Portra 160, Fujinon 210mm...
Working through my stash of 5x7 Portra 160 (exp. 2014). In my Gundlach Korona with the Ilex 6 1/2 inch f/4.5 lens. I like this lens a lot....
I've been shooting flowers, since they don't care about social distance. This is a lone crocus by the side of the road. Portra 160 in my 4x5 Gundlach Korona, Rodenstock 210mm lens. Almost full...

An orchid shot in the office where I work. Portra 160 5x7 in my Gundlach Korona with a Caltar II-N...
Let me join the chorus: keep going with the 8x10. It'll get easier the more you shoot and the level of detail in your negs will blow your mind.
Good going Steven! Welcome to the slippery slope of home processing. Let me know when you want to do color...
Got out to shoot some closeups of flowers on a tree on the first warm day we've had in a long while. (I don't know my trees....but I know it's not a cherry tree!) Efke 100 8x10 from the freezer...
Wonderful shot, David: the water looks like silk!
Thanks Steve! I was most impressed by the film--this was one of the last sheets from a box of Delta that expired three years ago. Didn't make any adjustments: shot at box speed and developed...
Finally got a nice day to try out my new (to me) Kodak View #2. Fujinon-W 300mm lens, Ilford Delta 100, 8x10.

ericantonio: Nice result! I like the geometry of it, the composition and the DoF. Looking forward to more...
Thanks for the input; it puts a lot more emphasis on the white pawns, which is what drew me to the chess set in the first place. This was outdoors in a park, and when I was scanning it I thought I...
Peter,
The telephone pole was tilted, which I liked, so I futzed with the back to see if I could tilt the smokestack for a convergence effect. It came out a bit stronger than I expected, but when I...
Here's the re-cropped version of the chess board, per Chassis' suggestion. I like it much better. Thanks for the good advice!

Some industrial decay. The old mill (once a tire factory I'm told) now largely demolished in Milltown New Jersey.

Chassis: thanks and good call! I'll re-crop it downward. And maybe lose that bishop (I think it's a bishop...) peeking in at the left of frame there.

Too long without shooting any LF! Went out with my Korona 4x5 and some Bergger 400. I like the faster...
Real Bellevue never looked that good! Nice work indeed. I especially like that shot of the 405 freeway--right on the money.
Magnificent.
I've had similar problems using Rodinal and Tri-X at 1:100. It might have been a temperature issue, but I never did a scientific test to find out.
Renato, I love that shot of the Gare de l'Est. (I was alive then!)
It was a mistake of course (and I've fixed it since) but it's an old trick. Smearing grease (usually Vaseline--I'm not sure why) was a tried and true way of achieving soft focus. I guess they did...
Yesterday I tried out a newly acquired Primo Jr. 4x4 with a roll of expired Portra. It had a film of oil on the rear taking lens element that gave a soft-focus look to every frame. Mostly I...
Thanks for the advice, Pali. I think maybe I have to give it a try!

Pali,
Very nice colors (I like the slight warmth). I used to shoot Ektachrome a lot and still love the look of it--how do you rate the difficulty of E6 processing? I've been doing C-41 for a while...
Shot this a few years ago. A local anomaly: a single-car train that runs from Princeton to the mainline. 8x10 in my Seneca.

I'm finally beginning to get the hang of soft-focus, I think. Shot with my Fuji 250 SF lens, this has a very small DoF but I love the bokeh I get when I shoot close up like this.

I found that giving the edges of the dark slides a spritz of silicone lubricant and wiping with a clean cloth makes them slide in and out of the holder very smoothly indeed and lasts for months or...
Kent,
I've done several Koronas in a couple of sizes. I've always bought my bellows from Rudy (a.k.a. Ecbuyonline) via Ebay. He does impeccable work, in my experience. I also always use Pliobond...
I'm guessing 4x4 (127) counts.

I have a couple of Koronas--4x5 and 5x7. I love shooting with them; nice and solid and well designed.
My latest restoration project: a Rochester Optical Long-focus 8x10 Premo from 1901. Had to do some brass fabrication, stripped and replaced leather, sanded/stained/varnished interior wood.

I've used a Unicolor 8x10 drum since I started shooting large format five or six years ago and been quite happy with the results, except the occasional overlap with 4x5 sheets. (Got to go to Harbor...
