  1. Excellent Labs for color and BW developing - 4x5

Recommendations for labs open now and during normal times? Thanks.
  2. Re: Mailing exposed 4x5 film to lab for developing

Thanks everyone. Thanks Roger for the offer. I should be OK with the original box I have.

  4. Re: Grad ND, Contrast and Color FIlter Setup with Center Filter

OK so I finally got out and shot the 75mm and 90mm (with and without the CF) with Tmax 100. I added 1 1/2 stops with the CF on the 90mm. I should have added 1/3 of stop as I was down in the single...

Re: MF (6x4.5,6x6,6x7,6x9,6x12) B&W film images sharing

Hi Peter, Glad you're doing OK. Your pictures are great. Sharp, clear and great tones I drove through a nearby park an hour south of you and they too had everything closed down with tape and...
  7. Re: Grad ND, Contrast and Color FIlter Setup with Center Filter

Well, I already have the CF for the 90mm but not for the 75mm on order. So I'll shoot both ways and see what's up. I'll hold off buy any new filter sets until I make up my mind. Thanks all.

    very nice photo.
  10. Re: Backpacks for 4X5 with 3 small lenses and Chamonix F2

What sizes are recommended for 4x5 lens, the smaller ones like a 150mm with 67mm filter size? What about larger 90mm wide angle with 82mm filter sizes?
  11. Re: Grad ND, Contrast and Color FIlter Setup with Center Filter

What's interesting is the vignetting in Clyde Butcher's photos. I don't know if they were added when printing or because he didn't use a CF? Whatever, it doesn;t hurt his sales. ...

Austin, What did you wrap your lenses with?
  13. Re: Grad ND, Contrast and Color FIlter Setup with Center Filter

Well, right now my holders are loaded only with Tmax 100. Steven suggested I shoot two sheets with my 90mm (Nikkor f/4.5) with and without the CF on the same shot to see the difference and what I...
  14. Re: Backpacks for 4X5 with 3 small lenses and Chamonix F2

I settled on the F64 for my Chamonix 45H-1. But my camera doesn;t compress like the F2. I tried a pack with roller wheels and an extendable handle to pull the thing. They install the handle down...
  15. Re: Grad ND, Contrast and Color FIlter Setup with Center Filter

Your point seems to indicate the elephant in the room if you don't use the CF. Wouldn't the Cokin grad ND filter work similarly as on any other lens once you put the CF on the 90mm?
    Regarding...

Why is 105mm "way too big"? What did you mean?
  18. Re: Grad ND, Contrast and Color FIlter Setup with Center Filter

Well right now I have a 77mm filter set from my medium format camera including square grads. So I can use it on the 75mm and 150mm lens with simple adapters. I probably should have gotten a 90mm...
  19. Re: Grad ND, Contrast and Color FIlter Setup with Center Filter

Yes. But the issue is how to integrate graduated ND filters with other filters. Graduated filter are best with the square sliding type. But that limits how to mount the holder. In which order? ...

  21. Grad ND, Contrast and Color FIlter Setup with Center Filter

I'm shooting 4x5. The largest lens I have is a 90mm lens with center filter. The lens takes a 82mm filter if used without the center filter. The center filter outer ring is 105mm. I also have a...

I was referring to which spot heal or spot clone in Lightroom when getting dust spots off of scans of film. Which then is better?

    Re: explain like I'm 5......... 90mm lenses

Drew Is there an issue with adding other filters with the CF relating to it's size or threads to mount the other filters? I read somewhere that could be a problem.

Ambient light that you shoot can be a dozen stops beyond what film or digital sensors can catch with one exposure. That's why we sometimes use graduated neutral density filters. However, once the...

Jpseph, I have a Chamonix 4x5. How does the f/8 rating of the Nikkor 90mm rate as far as ability to see the GG that has a fresnel lens? Would this be a good selection for 4x5?
