I'd very much like to, but haven't tried it yet. I'm still very much new to all of this (printing, large format, and film photography in general) so I've got a lot of skills still to develop and...
... and darn it, it only just occurred to me that I could have used swing to reduce the DOF in the desired area.
Crud.
Lessons learned, I guess.
And my best picture from March:

Exactly what you said. I love it.
Thank you for the compliment! And great advice. Can't believe I didn't see that before...
This was my best shot from February (and likely for a while to come!) Already shared this in the Portraits thread, but I'd be happy to hear any feedback or suggestions for improvement with future...
Beautiful. I love the lighting on this one. Perfect.

Sounds like that might do the trick! It's Fujifilm HR-U (or HR-T? The labeling seems conflicted) Medium Green. Developed in Diafine, I've gotten good results rating it at 200 in daylight.
Slowing...
Ooohh... cyanotypes seem to fit the bill! I'll give those a shot for a bit before I venture further down the road. Thanks all!
I'm looking for recommendations for good "beginner" alternative processes, toning, etc. I've been making contact prints and want to expand from there, but I have a rather limited darkroom (a cramped...
Maybe look into Diafine? I know it's not the most exciting developer, but it's reusable so you don't have to worry about burning through your supply of chemistry as you learn and get the hang of the...
Yeah, I figured red certainly would be out of the question. But at least a yellow and maybe a GND might help a tad when shooting outdoors.
Thanks for all of the advice! (And thank you for relocating the thread to the correct location! :))
I'll take a look at piecing together a slip-on holder. Since I'll mainly be shooting 8x10 with...
Hi there! I have no doubt this has been discussed somewhere here before, but I didn't find anything in my search.
I have a cheapo Cokin set I'd been using on my Intrepid 4x5, but recently upgraded...

Thanks! The light was just a single 135w CFL bulb from a cheapo Craphy softbox kit, immediately outside the frame to the left.
Thanks! This was only my second time shooting portraits in LF and I felt like I was fumbling through the posing/lighting process a bit, so it was really encouraging to have a result that turned out...
Huh. Not sure why it showed up so small. Let's see if this works better...

Love those shots! I'm aching to shoot some 4x5 Velvia, but I feel like I've still got a fair bit to go before I'm comfortable enough with the gear to get that right.
And I often see wonderful...
Thanks!
I've been shooting film for about a year and a half now on my RB67, and actually got my Intrepid back in February, but I put off actually using it until this month because I felt a little...
Hi all!
Figured it would be appropriate to make my first post here about my first large-format exposure. Which also happened to be my first attempt at film development and scanning. I was sure I...
