Thank you Sandy. I hope it becomes available again. There is a LOT of very valuable/useful information on those pages.

What about your web site, Sandy?? Where did that go?
Last fall I went in pursuit of the same goals - to make the ideal negatives for salt printing. I studied what materials I could and found many of the same ideas repeated. That includes: use FP4, not...
These marks are absolutely the result of light leaks somewhere in your process.
Rodinal is doing you no favors. Its a poor choice to pair with Delta emulsions. You fry the high values.
It is possible (likely?) that the retaining ring is lacquered in place (many time, this is the case), and so a couple drops of acetone would soften the lacquer and allow for removal of the ring. This...
Oh come on, it’s not like a simple survey is required to “see” each and every one of us in all our endless complexity. They just want a glimpse into what their customers need and expect.
Last July I bought the 5x7 Intrepid. It took maybe 3-4 weeks longer than the estimate, but that was way better than when I bought the 8x10 two years earlier. I expect you should add a month to their...
I think you can be pretty certain that the unpleasant skin tones are the result of severe under exposure. Pancro 400 actually has a bit extra red sensitivity, in my experience
Photoshop Express used to be a free iPhone app. Then they killed it and took it away. Now they want us back, taunting us with a “free” 14 day trial?? No, I don’t think so. Middle finger to you, Adobe.
I'm looking at grainery.app as an alternative to Instagram now. It appears to be much more geared towards sharing of images that originate solely from film.
If you're using Pancro 400 in sheet film formats (not 120 or 35mm) then its almost irrelevant which developer you choose, since grain isn't going to be conspicuous no matter what. Rodinal delivers...
Yep, it’s a terrible combo. Friends don’t let friends develop Pancro 400 in Rodinal!
Pancro 400 has a much greater fog base than most any other modern film. Doesn't matter what you develop it in, its got serious base density. You may find you get less base+fog if you expose at 160...
I experimented last year with the Arista Ortho film paired with D-23 diluted 1:3 and got very decent "pictorial" contrast.
Sorry, I misread your original post. Just ignore me ;-)
Perhaps, but it seems to me that spray paint poses a greater risk of filling in the hole. I guess you'll find out!
Have you considered blacking the pinhole with candle soot? Should be easy to do.
Didn't Renner die in 2020?
Its just the plating coming off. You can sand those areas down without any consequences. Try to create as smooth a surface as possible. The inside of that "main lever" ring is more important than the...
I'm not surprised you two know each other. I worked for Deb in the 1980s as her darkroom technician, and I learned a LOT during the two years I was with her. She's a great photographer and I have a...
I do have Chris's book, yes. I acquired it shortly after making the above print. A very useful book!
I have no "opinions" about large format photography that I feel need expressing to others. I enjoy what photography brings to my life, the things it enables me to do, and the sense of purpose it...

Thank you very much Hugo, I'm very glad you like it.
Thanks very much!

The Sarracenia are in bloom (and now the room smells like cat pee).

I've used PF's PMK and it worked well. Mine lasted four years before the Pyro component finally went bad. (I didn't use the whole bottle before it expired)
It seems to me there are folks here who don't understand what a "still life" is.
Another vote for Pinhole Assist. I’ve used it for years. Very reliable, accurate.
Very nice work indeed!
On it. 8x10 with the Intrepid, on HP5.

I assume you mean the 203mm Ektar, f7.7
It covers 4x5 with quite a bit of room to spare. I regularly use my 203 Ektar on 5x7 and it covers well enough.
It is, as Bernice has suggested, an excellent...

Sometimes, those Schneider lenses can benefit from a bit less contrast. Just sayin'.
If you’re not liking these images, then it’s time to switch to a high acutance developer, like Pyrocat HD
Personally, I dislike shutters that have electronics in them and require electricity to operate, and wouldn't seek one out. Resistors and capacitors WILL FAIL in time, whereas the all mechanical...
