  1. Re: Shooting Ilford Delta and developed as iso 400

Build a model house or other structure out of cardboard or something ... look up Frank Kunert, although he is a good bit past the cardboard stage, I think. :)

Re: Tripod head for Cambo SC

Well, perhaps I should get another 229 then, since the one I already have is out of reach (another country). As mentioned, they do their job once you've actually managed to haul it up the mountain.

    Tripod head for Cambo SC

Since the tripod mounting block is a bit small, I have an issue getting it to really lock down on my existing tripod heads. Would have loved something as clever as the Sinar pan tilt head with its...

Interesting. I took the frame off the rods, and there is what I think is a small ball bearing (one of those things that go plip onto the floor never to be seen again) inside the nut on the frame. On...

    Sinar Norma detent adjustment

Unless it is very easy to fix, I am not going to bother with it at the moment, but ... is the detent for rise/fall possible to adjust? It is too loose, and does not really "click" into place. I am...

Sinar 4x5" back for Norma rear standard?

Does the newer 4x5" backs (F or P) fit the rear standard for a Sinar Norma (I mean the whole thing; the frame that fits into the rear standard plus the groundglass part)?
  13. Re: Your Best Photograph from the Previous Month - Critique and Discussion Encouraged

I am going to put my head in here, Corran - I think the horizontal version is really nice, but I am somewhat bothered by the small "hole" on top (the sky). In the vertical version the sky, although...
  14. Re: Your Best Photograph from the Previous Month - Critique and Discussion Encouraged

I really like this one, to me it has a certain pictorialist vibe. It works well cropped to panoramic, and the dark swirly water contrasted by the foam is a good setting to the branch in the...
  15. Re: Advice on a spare-time project? 4x4 back and holders

    Don,

this makes me happy to see. Especially the Old Guys 1969 - it reminds me of grandpa, who would've turned hundred this year, but sadly he is off to pastures unknown since 25 years.

Re: New Website: comments or Suggestions welcome

  19. Re: Toyo 5x7 deluxe monorail bellows and lens question

Probably. From my experience, at least the plastic (Lisco, Fidelity) 12x16.5, 13x18 and 6 1/2 x 4 3/4 holders are marked with their actual size in white lettering.

Try some paper negatives for a...
  20. Re: Toyo 5x7 deluxe monorail bellows and lens question

The 6 1/2 x 4 3/4 film holders are for a different film format, but their outer dimension is the same as a 5x7" holder. You will have to get some 5x7" holders (or cut film to 6 1/2 x 4 3/4 size). The...

You could also look for a LUC or Gitzo shutter to put on the front of the lens - the LUC shutters are made in a few sizes. Like the Packard, they are limited to one speed (1/25 s).

Light trap foam thickness, Sinar Norma?
