Re: Ebony RW810 or Arca Swiss F Series

Don’t let availability of bellows in a particular size combination turn you off Arca, if it turns out that’s what’s most suited to you. Bellows are available from other parties as noted above. Frames...

Re: Tripod Head Recommendations for 4x5

I suggest not wasting money on bargain/knockoff geared heads for 4x5. Get a solid classic like the Gitzo Drew mentioned, or a Sinar pan-tilt head.
  3. Re: Arca Swiss F-Metric Field C 4x5 - some beginner questions

Regarding geared vs non-geared movements, and Orbix:

For rise/fall/shift movements I have my eye farther back, looking at the whole composition. Focus doesn't change with these movements, so I...

Re: Cameras with geared swing movement

Arca Swiss M-2 has geared front swing and tilt. It's slightly heavier & bulkier than an F-line, but less than fully-geared monorails like Sinar P/2, etc. It does this by limiting movements to...

Re: Trying Out An Arca D4 Tripod Head

I had the same initial reaction to the 2-step clamp, and changed it out for different ones. It's offset shape and steps come in handy in certain situations though, so I changed back.

Re: Trying Out An Arca D4 Tripod Head

Sounds like an Arca "Monoball Fix" clamp. Check if it fits the upper extension rails of your camera.

I think it's an option to buy their heads with the Monoball Fix clamp or the standard Arca...

Re: arca swiss F metric 5x7?

I did the same thing to attach a Sinar 4x5 back to my Arca M2. (Dovetail plate marked with arrow.) Since the rise/shift is on the function carrier, that movement is preserved. The same could be...
