    Re: Baseboard refinishing question

When I got my Omega DII the baseboard was shot too. I just bolted the enlarger onto the counter top. I made sure the countertop was level first. The counter top is heavy and stable and works fine as...

    Re: Spot meter

My advice is to use the meter that works best for you and then put the other meter away. Trying to get 2 meters to agree all of the time is like chasing unicorns. I had one meter calibrated and then...

    Re: Omega D-2 Enlarger

This should not be that hard to do yourself. It may be easier if you remove the dichroic head. It is probably held on with a few screws or bolts. To replace the springs raise the enlarger head as far...

  8. Re: Darkroom plumbing advice needed, please

I use a shower mixing valve and it has worked well. It takes a few minutes to stabilize the temperature but it will hold a constant temperature and flow rate. 198148

Re: Any Aristo W54 Cold Head Tips?

I have used an Aristo VCL 4500 variable contrast cold light head on my DII for a long time. If you can find one it may be the best solution for you. They do pop up on ebay once in a while.

Re: Best Writing on Photography Ever!

It is just self important BS. This is why I never read the artist statement before I look at the pictures. Most of the time it is just this kind of BS that has nothing to do with the pictures.

    Re: Buzzing Aristo D2-HI lamp

My aristo cold light head for bseseler 23c also makes a buzzing sound when it is turned on. It always has. I always thought that was normal. It has been working for about 30 years so I think it is ok.

Re: Converting room to a darkroom.

  33. Re: Versalab print washer - getting the siphon started

There is a small hole on the siphon tube that needs to be open for the siphon to work. I also find that lifting the siphon tube above the level of the washer will get the siphon to start.

    Re: Omega2 vrs Beseler45MXT

A drunken party! Never thought of that. Any party in my darkroom would have to be pretty small but I suppose they could do significant damage.
