Re: Any Schneider 210XL owners here?

I'd owned two different 210XL's at some point (long story), and both of them were super sharp in the center at f8, and across 8x10 frame at f16. The sharpness did drop slightly with the unobtanium...

Re: Plastics question for film developing

First I thought "this would use a lot of developer"

Then I looked at some math - using a 2 1/2" pipe to fit comfortably a 120mm roll, with a length of 35" yields a volume of about 172in3, or 2.8...

It's a fun project indeed. However have you considered the archival qualities of your A4 sleeves? If your sleeve contains PVC it will yellow, gas out and potentially destroy the negatives. In my...

Re: Developer in powder - Color and B&W

For powder C41 or E6, don't think they exist. For economy however you should try Rollei Digibase C41, which has separate bleach and fix, and the concentrate stores a long time in the fridge (not the...
  7. Re: Rare Rodenstock APO-Sironar W 300mm F5.6 MC Lens

Re: (possibly) taking the large jump

I have the Intrepid enlarger. While it's small, setting it up to print is a massive hassle, especially if you don't have a good copy stand or a geared head to align the enlarger parallel with your...
  9. Re: Centre filters for UWA lens - rear element instead of front

I think Rod made a typo, he meant one should not add a filter to the rear of the lens after focusing.

This is the same issue as putting a Fresnel lens between the ground glass and the lens, it...
  10. Centre filters for UWA lens - rear element instead of front

This might sound like a ridiculous idea, but I'm wondering why can't centre filters be made for the rear elements? Lenses like the Super Symmar XL 110mm has a 52mm thread on the rear vs 67mm on the...

    Re: Intrepid 8X10 New Video

Mounted a 600mm Nikkor-T for kicks and giggles and the camera bowed a bit. That's about 3.5 lbs on the camera at near full extension. If I can find the photos I'll post.
  13. Re: 100mm diameter filters for Rodenstocks Sironar W 210 / S 300

    Re: Intrepid 8x10 experiences?

Intrepid's bellows material is quite thick and "industrial" so if they make the universal front it wouldn't have helped much. A replaceable bellows adds cost and complexity to the camera. You'll be...

  26. Re: 3d printed 4x5 and 5x7 inserts for Paterson daylight tanks.

I can see at least 3:
    - Less developer required.
    - Repeatable result. Sliding a hair band down some film neither secure nor repeatable.
    - Doesn't look ghetto.

  30. Re: Thoughts on centering a lens on a flat bed view camera?
