    The Nikkor M lenses was intended as compact lenses. The macro lenses are the AM lenses.

    I do not know of any serial number information for Nikkor lenses online.

    I think the reason could be that Epson Scan are a 32 bit application and Silverfast are a 64 bit application (more memory space for scans).

    I use a pre-soak for both 35 mm and 4" * 5", but is mainly to avoid air bubles and uneven development.

    Nikkor T = telelens
    Nikkor W = wide (plasmat type)
    Nikkor SW = Super Wide (biogon type)

    The Fujinon 250mm 6.3 is another alternative, which is only 1/2 stop slower and in a Copal 1 shutter.

    I have one, in the multi-coated version, which is razor sharp.

    I do the same with water from the tumble dryer and filter always through coffee filters. I use one 5 liter bottle for filtered water and one 5 liter bottle for unfiltered water. It works perfectly....
