  1. Re: What is this adapter on my Dallmeyer Pentac 2.9/8" for?

So they used this to attach it on some kind of helicoid to focus it correctly?
  2. What is this adapter on my Dallmeyer Pentac 2.9/8" for?

I got today a Dallmeyer Pentac 2.9/8“ and was very surprised by the huge adapter on the lens. Any idea for what this brass adapter was used? The mount at the end is approx 5cm in diameter.

  3. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

Did you get good results with that film yet?
  4. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

BTW: Kodak Min R 2000 Plus seems to work very well either: https://www.flickr.com/photos/macieklesniak/16193630057

I've noticed today with horror that the Fuji AD-M,...

Constantly shaking the tray from left to right ...

2nd try with pre-soaking the film in 3% soda solution to get rid of the anti-halation layer for 4 mins. The developers react more quickly but the...

Then I rocked the tray probably too much. Is time also a factor? E.g. watering down the solutions to get longer developing times?
  9. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

My first shot at the use of x-ray film. I've tried 3 different developers on Fuji AD-M film. I was surprised at the heavy clouds on the Kodak developers. Agfa is way smoother. Maybe I have to try...
  10. Re: Want to pick up LF again: Film suggestion for 4x5" and/or suitable developer for

Ah cool, than I will try Moersch since I want to order there anyway to try out D23 ... :-)

Prices in Germany are quite different. HP is at 1.84 per sheet, TMAX at 2.60 - almost a third more...
  11. Re: Want to pick up LF again: Film suggestion for 4x5" and/or suitable developer for

I have to admit that (again since the collodion photography) I love the idea to mix the chemistry myself. And indeed, Leszek, the D23 sample images at...
  12. Re: Want to pick up LF again: Film suggestion for 4x5" and/or suitable developer for

I'm not the biggest fan of brands like Rollei or Lomography. Noone can be sure what is really behind that or if they decide to change the manufacturer at some point (like Lady Grey - switch from...
  13. Want to pick up LF again: Film suggestion for 4x5" and/or suitable developer for HP5

After working with collodion I got hooked up with large format photography again and I want to make a new series in 4x5“. Since sheets are quite expensive to get developed and I splash around with...

  15. Question about Linhof Kardan Super Color (sub)model

After starting out with wetplate photography, I remembered that I have still a 4x5“ Linhof camera in the basement. It was a gift but I really never got around using it since after photo school I...
