  1. Re: Which lenses fold up into your field camera? Linhof Tecnika, Horseman, etc. quest

150mm on 001015 recessed board folds in the Technika 45.

On the inside of the drop bed is a circle. Any lens left to mount when the camera is closed
Has to have a front rim that fits into that...
  2. Re: Thoughts About Linhof 4x5 Technikardan 45s ?

The TK 45 has a double pleated bellows. When Linhof introduced it the Japanese distributor (Shiro) ordered them all with a
Standard type tapered bellows and did not offer it as a folding camera!
  3. Re: Thoughts About Linhof 4x5 Technikardan 45s ?

Yes, it would work if you are not using any movements.

There was one photographer in Hawaii that bought one of the very first ones that used it as a handheld camera in the folded position and...
  4. Re: Thoughts About Linhof 4x5 Technikardan 45s ?

No, it makes sense to follow the instructions, simple ones, and open and close it properly.

The vast majority of users that had a bellows problem either didnít have all movements at 0 or/and...

    Re: Linhof Serial Numbers

That is a IV from around 1960. If a V it would have a lever rise on the front standard. Yours has a knob rise on the back side of the front standard. The IV had tan covering, the V grey covering.
  6. Re: How to decide for a set of three lenses for a Linhof Technika IV

There were three different Heliopan 77mm center filters. The most recent one and the two older ones. One was 4 stops!
  7. Re: Thoughts About Linhof 4x5 Technikardan 45s ?

Not a variant, I mixed them up. I usually do without a TK in front of me!
  8. Re: Thoughts About Linhof 4x5 Technikardan 45s ?

That is why we used the wrap. In fact, when the TK was originally introduced, we showed it to Ken Hansen and they mentioned the same thing. We went to Jim Domke to make a larger Lens Wrap that could...
  9. Re: Thoughts About Linhof 4x5 Technikardan 45s ?

Not necessary and time consuming if you know how to open and close the camera. After all, the bellows is already installed on the camera when you buy it.
  10. Re: Thoughts About Linhof 4x5 Technikardan 45s ?

The S version? The front. And rear standards are different and stiffer then the original TK.
  11. Re: Thoughts About Linhof 4x5 Technikardan 45s ?

We used a large Novoflex lens wrap to protect it in transit.
  12. Re: Thoughts About Linhof 4x5 Technikardan 45s ?

Fully extended it is a monorail. Stop assuming about products that you havenít used.
  13. Re: Thoughts About Linhof 4x5 Technikardan 45s ?

It is very easy to open and fold. Lock the red levers and unlock the green ones and turn the focusing knob in the indicated direction on the face of the knob. All controls should be set at 0 to open...
  14. Re: How to decide for a set of three lenses for a Linhof Technika IV

Recessed boards are a pain to change aperture or shutter speed on. Hard to see numbers, harder to change settings. I'm also thinking it will be difficult to find center filters for lenses out of...
  15. Re: How to decide for a set of three lenses for a Linhof Technika IV

Modern wide angle lenses do not vignette. Vignetting is caused by mechanical cutoff of the lens coverage.
What you and some others are calling vignetting is actually fall off which is an optical...
  16. Re: Thoughts About Linhof 4x5 Technikardan 45s ?

Ask me. It is an ideal camera to use inside and outside.folds to about the size of a book. Opens into a 20Ē monorail. Full movements, on axis, front and back. Accepts the very widest lenses with the...

  18. Re: How to decide for a set of three lenses for a Linhof Technika IV

A 105 is not a wide angle. Recent wide angles cover a circle around 100 to 105į. A 100 or 105mm is in the 68 to 70į range. Those donít need a Caf but they also donít cover 45.
  19. Re: How to decide for a set of three lenses for a Linhof Technika IV

4x5 is a short, squat format while 35 mm is a longer format. You can print an entire 45 image and make an 810 or 16x20.

You canít do that with 35mm, you would have to crop the negative to make an...
  20. Re: How to decide for a set of three lenses for a Linhof Technika IV

All of the recent wide angle design lenses suffer from fall off center to edge. To correct that fall off you need a correct center filter. Regardless of focal length of the wide angle focal length,...
  21. Re: How to decide for a set of three lenses for a Linhof Technika IV

Lenses in a 1 shutter will not fit a Linhof recessed board.

Did you read what the Comfort board does?
  22. Re: How to decide for a set of three lenses for a Linhof Technika IV

As the Linhof distributor in the USA from the 70s to 2015 and the Rodenstock distributor from 86 to 2015 the 3 most common lenses are the 90, 150 and 210mm.
The 150 on the 001015 recessed Comfort...
  23. Re: Where is the image formed on the ground glass? (With and without fresnel) | image

You really donít usually stop down just to increase DOF. You should be stopping down to the optimal performance of the lens, usually f22, unless you deliberately are looking for something other then...

It is, but it has to be unscrewed to be mounted onto the front ring from Burghard. The glass is unscrewed from the lens tube and screwed into the back side of that front ring.

Almost, you have to put the front ring from the Imagon onto the front of the lens tube, otherwise the disks, filter and hood can not be mounted.

The 180 isnít a WA. And itís best performance is 2 stops down. Or, he could use the 210mm.

The WA series of Rodagon outperforms, within its optimization range, the Rodagons.
