Yes, I am very comfortable with the math involved. I am a college/high school physics instructor. I will pick up a copy. Thank you.

Does the edition of the book matter that much?
Thanks, Pere. That was a nice explanation, and I will get the book.
Thanks. I have one for my densiometer. I thought about that, but my hesitation was:
What do you do to get within a ballpark for the exposure? (in other words how do you translate to EV for...
The idea of exposing 11 4x5 sheets of film to make a sensiometric curve makes the cheapskate in me cringe. Have any of you successfully exposed 4x5" with all 11 Zones on one sheet. I need the...
I realized I actually should have put 45F. It has a rotating back and detachable bellows. I purchased a rail for a 45G, so that I could use the extensions.
Thanks,
Chris
I was wondering if there are compatibility issues between the rails/extensions for the Toyo/Omega 45E and G. I noticed the G rails have screws in the center.

Jan, QLM just uses another spot meter for comparison. If I know what pot/pots to turn, I can adjust it myself. He is a really nice guy and knows his stuff however he does not have a standard...
Anyone know what pot adjusts the Pentax spot's y intercept for the scale? The slope is fine (it seems to be off by the same 2/3 of a stop on the top and the bottom of the scale). It compared well...
Yes, the total came to about $250, and I have about 20 sheets of Portra 160VC out of the deal. Slightly expired, but still perfectly good. Any tips on freezing already opened boxes of 8x10" color...
The shoot went perfect. Thanks for all the help guys. I had to fabricate a lens board for the rental lens and get it done in a few hours. Very stressful, but the product was well worth it.
Here...
That would be right now :o)

Life touch backed out. We are opening a brand new high school there. I teach Chemistry and Physics at the school, and I will be donating my time. However, I will be getting reimbursed for any...
Thanks, Cosmic. I also noticed that the local rental house also has a Fuji MF pano camera. They have a 120mm that will just cover 8x10" too -- decisions, decisions.

I have just been commissioned as a replacement for Life Touch for a massive panorama with about 1700 students. I think that is a bit much to ask of my Canon 5D. However, I was thinking about...
Thanks. I'll get er done.
Chris
It looks like epoxy resin.

What should I use to clean the old adhesive off and glue it back on with. My first guess would be gorilla glue. It is really strong.
I have a Burke and James 8x10" Grover. I am wondering what the best way to store the bellows -- folded in or extended. The looked a little droopy after setting in my office for a while. I tried to...
p.s. My account is kq6up7. However, if you can find the request for kq6up, I would prefer that one.
Thanks,
Chris Maness
Ok, I will give it a shot today. I will try a different email too.
Chris
Graflex XL is a 120 Roll camera. It will take the 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 film holders though, but I think this is still in the MF category.
Chris
I figured it would be OT since it is a MF camera not a LF camera.
Chris
Thanks, Steve.

I have signed up many days ago to Graflex.org. Is the moderator asleep at the wheel? My membership is still waiting approval. I am a little discouraged. I am the proud new owner of a Graflex XL,...
Well that sounds reasonable if they are thorough. I just paid $179 for a local tech to go through a Nikon F, and it came back with the B mode not working. I was mad. He fixed it for free, but he...
p.s. Does anyone know how to get an Ilex #4 open. I only see two screws on the front that hold the f/stop plate on. I have a spanner, does the thing just spin apart. I do not want to disasemble...
I sent an email to Flutot's Camera per their email. There was something on their website about the proprietor being ill of late, and that they were taking names for a waiting list. I have heard...
@joselsgill I see your point. It is not too bad as far as consistency for B&W, but I can tell that shooting transparency would be a bad idea right now. Also, the B mode has started sticking. It...
I got my back yesterday. It almost fits, but I have to fudge it a little to get it to lock down. The pins are too close to pull and re-drill. If I did, I am afraid the old hole would overlap the...
I measured it again while it was on the camera, and I noticed the holes are oval to accept some error in the position of the pins, so it looks like it should fit.
Thanks a ton for your careful...
I might have to try using a metal quality ruler. I am also wondering if the difference of 1/16 split by the two posts would be only off by 1/32 of an inch. I would imagine the clip would still be...
Did you use a tape measurer or a ruler? That is really close enough for a measurement error. The little "hook" on the edge of a tape measurer is about 1/16" thick.
Thanks,
Chris
I have recently purchased a 8x10" Grover. The camera came with a tripod head with a standard tripod thread hole in the bottom. It also has the little slug so that it can be converted to a 3/8"...

I am looking for a 8x10" back for my 8x10" Grover. I only currently have the 5x7" back. After doing a little research, I have come to find out that it takes a "Universal" back size of:
outer...
I am now getting nice contact prints. I took a maternity photos of a couple at the beach yesterday, and my contact prints came out AWESOME. I have found 7' to be N-1 and 8' to be N.
If I use N-1...
Thanks guys. Yea, I ditched the safelight even though it was not a fogging issue. I am more like A. Adams than E. Weston. I have a science background, so I don't really need the touchy feely...
Well I have eliminated the fogging issue. I gaffer's taped up the door, and did not have the safe light on the whole time. The negative looks a prints exactly the same. I guess I will just have to...
