    I sold William the holders

    I may have mis-represented the condition on one of the holders, but to my eyes it was working or at least could be used with minimal repair

    I sold him 3 plus parts...

    The issue here is the optar lens. not a very sharp lens..

    try a modern plasmat.. nikkor or schnider

    or a nice ektar... those are great little lenses.. very sharp stopped down

    nick. get a top quality crown graphic.. not a ton of movements, but very lightweight and folds up very small.. rugged and durable for outdoor shooting..

    you really want to scan 4x5 at more than 2000 dpi? do you know how big the file will be ? 80 million pixels. thats like a 200-300MB raw file. trust me you can print at like 6 feet by 7 feet easy...

    its a good idea to spray some water from a spritzer bottle in the area right before u hang to dry to remove excess airborn dust.

    and for the little leftovers at the tip, just take a bunched paper...

    Why not try Portra 160NC? I really like having the latitude of neg film and the portra properly scanned is breathtakingly high quality... If you need more contrast, then its very easy to add in later...

    try getting a decent medium format scan. you need wet mounting at least. Ive used it a lot and it does an acceptable job with 6x9 and above... 4x5 is good.. if u get the wet mount its much much...

    Ive owned a V750 and a 4990.

    I think the V750 provides better detail and resolution for landscape work.

    4990 is acceptable, but not as good IMO especially if you will be doing large prints.

    I plan on shooting almost every image going forward with a cooke f/2.9 165mm lens.
