    Re: TT 5 x 12 handmade camera

That's a beauty TRi. I like the larger lens board, and the increased movement of the lens. The little lensboard on my Korona doesn't come close.

For years a 120 Angulon (NOT SUPER ANGULON) has been my go to WA for 5x7 in the field. Small, lightweight and adequate coverage.

Back when Kodak sold their Spotting Colors on 3x3 special papers, they were watercolor. One of those little pads lasted a long time. When it was apparent they would no longer be available, i bought...

  8. Re: Excited to embark on Covid PT/PD testing...trails....newbie.....NEED TIPS!

I don't know of a 400 ISO film whihc wil give adequate contrast with comon developers.
    Use a 100 or 125 ISO like FP4+.
Expose to get minimal, but adequate exposure in the shadows, and develop to...
  9. Re: Disasterous Consequences

It appears the rear element may not be screwed completely into the shutter.
  10. Re: Disasterous Consequences

EIther your Nikon 90 mm is not a wide angle lens,or you are missing an element. I suspect it is not a WA. Does the ID on the lens indicat WA?
  11. Re: Let's see your landscape lens (with meniscus / achromat lens)

I have three Wollaston single Meniscus lenses which ae excellent, and cheap. Google them and they will pop up.

    Re: Old HP5 Film

If you have it, try a sheet from the middle of he box.It may be OK, and it may not. I just tested some Adox film I had on hand since before 2000. It was clear and responded well to the same...
  13. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

It will fit if it is 20.3 cm x 25.4 cm. You may have to buy larger nd cut down.
  14. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

I usually use trays. Inspection is by reflection off the reverse side looking primarily for good density in the highlights . The shadows are extremely difficult to see, especially in my 90's.
  15. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

Red, because the film has no sensitivity to red, but some to green.
  16. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

Exposure is dependent on your film, your latitude, weather and the time of day. In San diego on a nice day I use an EI of 100 from 2 hours after sunrise until an hour prior to sunset. Before and...

  21. Re: Platinotype: Making Photographs in Platinum and Palladium

Ziatype works beautifully. The print color varies slightly from a Pt or Pd print, but is appropriate for many of my images. The main difficulty is the humidity of the paper must be tightly controlled.

I'm with Vaughn. I usually print the entire negative. If the rebate is distracting I mask it out with overmat when presenting.

  27. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

I am a great believer in having plenty of film. I am 91, and my 8x10 and 5x12 stock was down to 400 and 500 sheets respectively,so I took advantage of the Ilford ULF order to stock up, as well as a...

Re: eTone focusing cloths - opinions?

The major problem is that it doesn't cover the bellows. This may not be a problem with a new camera, but one which has been owned and used for 25-75 years, or more, may well need this help.

    Re: Human sized camera

I don't believe a #0 is long enough to do what you wish. It is only one meter If you decide it is for you, let me know via PM, I may have one and if so it would not cost you very much.
