I shot this excellent negative over the weekend so I decided to push the Cezanne to the limit by scanning it at 5000 DPI (strips) to see what I could pull from a TMX negative exposed about as...

    A quick observation.

There's a recent thread in the "Lens and Lens Accessories" subforum about the Nikkor-M 300mm Q.

I note that, at least here on my machine, the 3 top threads at the bottom...

Dan, I've actually talked to multiple people who either don't post anymore or left after not much time.

Good choice of subject btw Vance.
  18. Re: Is it worth it to buy this Beseler enlarger?

Enlarger pricing is all about where you are and what you can find. I imagine there's even slimmer pickings in MS than here in GA. Of course as soon as you buy it, a free one or two will pop up!

  19. Re: Has anyone here done three-color photography on B/W with a Speed Graphic or simil

Luckily with Photoshop it's basically a one-click merge and registration, so no big deal on that if you are doing it digitally.

Re: Scanning a negative as a document

I saw that and I have no idea what those folks were smoking. Yes, film is transmissive, and the Epson and all negative scanners use a light source behind the negative (in relation to the lens/sensor)...

  24. Re: Has anyone here done three-color photography on B/W with a Speed Graphic or simil

From my notes on the blog:

    Green 58: 2 stops
    Blue 47: 3 stops

Seems to be what I arrived at.
  25. Re: Has anyone here done three-color photography on B/W with a Speed Graphic or simil

I didn't find the filter factors to have that kind of disparity, but if you go for a more extreme red (29) filter you might hit a higher filter factor (recommended at 4 1/3 for standard photography,...
  26. Re: Has anyone here done three-color photography on B/W with a Speed Graphic or simil

RL, it's certainly easier to shoot these in MF. I recommend you standardize on filter order so you always know what image is what filter. I always just do R - G - B, though I considered doing it in...

    Agree.

Today we had the barest dusting of snow/sleet here (after torrential rain and flooding yesterday!). There's hope yet for a bit of snow sticking before the end of winter.
