  1. Disinfecting developed film from lab due to Coronavirus

How would you handle negatives, contact sheets, glassines the film is shipped in, all received back from a lab who developed your negatives? It's easy to spray things with 91% isopropyl alcohol. ...

Skip: Good luck with your back. When I travel with my wife, I leave everything home now except my Sony RX100iv, a little P&S with a 1" sensor that I can keep in my breast pocket. It shoots 4k video...
  3. Re: Backpacks for 4X5 with 3 small lenses and Chamonix F2

Skip, MY 4x5 kit shown above I just weighed at 22 lbs. The old Gitzo tripod with head weighs another 9. I use it for my Mamiya RB67 medium format equipment as well. Interestingly, the RB67 camera...
  4. Re: Backpacks for 4X5 with 3 small lenses and Chamonix F2

I just started 4x5 photography. I don't hike. I wanted a bag to keep in the trunk that I could carry short distances from the car with all my stuff. So I settled on an F64. I keep the film packs...

    Re: About Schneider center filters

Bob, I'm confused. Why would I stop down? Don't I have to open the lens 2 stops for the CF?

Let's make this simple for me. My meter indicates the exposure should be F22 at 1/4 sec.

Dan and Bob, Thanks for the tips. So how do you use CF's and other filters with 90mm and 75mm lenses?

    Re: About Schneider center filters

Thanks for that info. I've asked this elsewhere. But I've been told it's best to use 88mm BW contrast filter and polarizer filters between the lens and CF. Of course that leaves grad ND filter...

Robert, I just got a Chamonix (45H-1) and the Nikkor 90mm f4.5 with the Schneider CF IV. I'm also shooting Tmax 100. I'd be very proud if I could get a shot like that some time. Very nice.

    Re: About Schneider center filters

I just bought a Schneider IV for a Nikkor 90mm f/4.5. I've been told I should open 1 1/2 stops when using it. Also is there anything special I should know when using it or how it's made?

That's a great shot. X Ray film. I can see right through the woods.
  13. Re: Which of my 5 LF lenses are worth keeping or worth upgrading?

Since you're shooting color chromes, how is the vignetting with the 90mm and 65mm without a center filter? Can you show us samples?

    Re: Large Format Landscapes

Nice shot Steven. Are the colors all correct? I have found (MF film) that I always had some trouble getting Ektar 100 right which is why I went back to Velvia 50.

OK so I finally got out and shot the 75mm and 90mm (with and without the CF) with Tmax 100. I added 1 1/2 stops with the CF on the 90mm. I should have added 1/3 of stop as I was down in the single...

  32. Re: Grad ND, Contrast and Color FIlter Setup with Center Filter

  40. Re: Grad ND, Contrast and Color FIlter Setup with Center Filter
