  1. Re: Shooting multiple formats (4x5 & 8x10) - separate lens sets, or one for both?

I started with 8x10" now, I use a Nikon 240, Symmar 300, Apo Ronar 480 all with ample movements. I use these lenses also for 4x5". The reverse way, starting on 4x5" and going to 8x10" you must...

Re: Question on Sinar P2 4x5 to 8x10 conversion

I have the 4x5" and 8x10". I mounted the 8x10 upper part on the back standard of the 4x5." That combination cannot be aligned, the front standard can not be set high enough. So you have a down shift...

  5. Re: Today I threw away all my outdated film !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Totally understand the feelings, good for you could do what you did. I was declared terminal when I was 33. When it was clear that I could survive, I threw away a lot too, I didn't want anything...

The Nikon 240mm is vignette free to infinity for 8x10" I often use it.
  11. Re: Sinar P2 camera: size of front standard and bellows?

I'll follow up on this, when I get home later this day. I have the special front bearer (P2), which is longer than the standard bearer.

  13. Re: Have any of you downgraded from 8x10 to 4x5? Why?

Having ended my professional activities, I have no more use for the 36x60" prints, so 8x10" gets less use.
I now have time to walk in rough terrain, then I take the 4x5" Linhof Technika.

    Re: Cambo SC v SCX

Thought also that a SC was easier in the terrain, but I was mistaken. It's bulkier than a field camera, I use a Linhof Technika for outdoors (90mm and 150mm).
Much faster to set up, I never needed...

Re: Cheap 4X5 Cameras are Everywhere

I value the monorail and the precise and fast work I can do with it. I have an excellent transport case for my Sinar P2, in both 4x5" and 8x10".
As long as my body allows it, I carry them outdoors...
  30. Re: so, do you guys consider my 6x9 to be "large format"?

That is exactly how Wikipedia sees it. Most interesting from the OP: there not a specific reference to a camera or a film format. From there it wandered from apples to pears.

  33. Re: ‘Pure’ Landscape Photography Versus Including the Human Element

In the Netherlands it's all very easy, it's not possible to find a landscape that is untouched by humans, past or present. Our country is that small, that every corner is or has been used by man.
