Thanks for you replies.
I ended up just playing it safe(r) and just shot some black and white. And thanks, Jim... I'll be on pins and needles of the fate of my relationship until I develop these!

Hi all,
I'm going to shoot my girlfriend's grandfathers collection of insanity in his basement tomorrow, and wanted to try shooting some color film I've purchased previously, but have never used....

Thanks for all the tips, guys!
I ended up just using a zip lock for the exposed film and keeping it in a dark closet. I think the temperature is actually quite bearable now as it’s been pretty...
Not sure if this is the correct forum for this question, but I am traveling (for the first time with film), so here goes.
I’m in Maui and I just hauled my MF gear as this is supposed to be a...
Peter, thank you. I just emailed him.
Looks like I need to track down this Ari fellow.
Thanks, guys! The FLM tripods look great.
Thanks for the advice.
I’m looking to get a tripod for traveling that is compact, light weight, sturdy and doesn’t break the bank.
On this trip I’ll be taking a Hasselblad 500cm and a Flexbody (nothing too heavy), but...
I agree 100% re. digital cameras. I just don't want to experiment with actual film.
I am using a dedicated light meter. Always. Just taking the reading off of that and adjusting the settings on...
Haha, yes. They are pricey and only one of the reasons I can't afford to stay in a luxury hotel.
Thanks for the tip. I'll try this method next and see what comes of it. And yes, my eyeballs have a...
They just say 10 stop and 6 stop on them (respectively). They're from a company called Breakthrough Photography https://breakthrough.photography/products/x4-neutral-density?variant=30850759697

Thanks, guys.
I did some tests, and I guess my filters are not exactly what they say. The 6 stop is a 7 stop, and the 10 stop is a 10 and 1/3 stop.
Thanks again!
Let's preface this by letting you all know (which you'll soon figure out) that I'm terrible with numbers.
I've been loosely trying to figure this out for a while, but thought I would ask on here,...
Leigh, this is great. Thanks so much for writing this out!
Thanks for the advice, Pere.
Thanks for your reply, Leigh.
My experience with coverage comes from a certain subject I was shooting (An abandoned house). I wanted to create some out of focus areas in the corners, but ran out...
Sorry, I'm still pretty green in the world of large format photography. I see the difference in specs, I just don't know how that applies to real world experience.
Hi all,
I have a 135mm Rodenstock Apo Sironar S. I love it. One thing I seem to run into is a slight lack of coverage in some situations.
I have an opportunity to grab a 150mm Apo Sironar S at...
Thanks, Johnny and Austin.
And Austin, I should have been able to tell that photo was taken by a fellow non-animal eater. Those cows looked at peace with you.
And that school-house image......
Those are some beautiful cow friends, Austin.

Thanks, Peter!
Karl, thanks so much for the info!
I'm looking at this lens for 4x5
-The seller says it's from 1933. Would that make it coated or un-coated?
-I'll be using the lens outside. Would I need a coated version?
-Do these lenses...
I figured as much. Thanks for your replies, gentlemen.
I live in Vancouver, Canada. It basically rains 366 days out of the year here (yes, I realize there are only 365 days in a year).
I use mostly modern lenses (Rodenstock and Schneider), but also...
Thanks for your comment, Barry.

Thank you very much, everyone. So much great info here. Doremus, thanks for your lengthy response.
Much appreciated!
I've got a Horseman 6x loupe, but sometimes I feel it's not quite enough for critical focusing (at least for my eyes).
I'm looking at this Schneider loupe, but the seller says he just used it for...
Yes, I ended up ordering some of those. Great deal. Thanks!
Thanks so much, everyone!
A lot of great info and sources here.
Thanks so much, everyone. This forum is great.
Now to figure out what sizes I need. It seems that should be easy with this whole google thing, but I'm having some trouble.
Thanks, Alan! Will look into those.
I've got a 210mm Apo Symmar that didn't come with front or rear caps.
Just wondering if anyone knows, or has preferences on where to get some generic ones?
Also, I'm trying to figure out what...
Yep, that's a good point. Maybe a dumb question... Is there any way to get in there and clean out the dust?
Thanks, all. This is easing my mind as I'd way rather keep it over sending it back. I'm still waiting for a lens board, so I won't be able to test it for a week or two, but I will rest easy now.

I just received this lens from KEH. It was listed as Excellent+
This isn't the greatest pic, but I'm looking for some advice. All my lenses are used, and have some specs of dust obviously. This...
Thanks, Miguel!
