  1. Re: Strange Experience in Monument Valley

  3. Re: Strange Experience in Monument Valley

Hey, I respect it, too. That's why I packed up and left. I'm just pointing out this is a big change from pre-covid rules and customs. Hell, I've seen 50 or more photographers with tripods lined up...
  4. Strange Experience in Monument Valley

I was on my way home from Arizona last week and stopped for a couple of nights at Goulding's across the highway from Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park. I had read online that the Park had just...

  8. Re: RIP Frank Lee Ruggles, former NPS Eminent Photographer

Yes, though my encounter with Frank was brief, he was very engaging, very enthusiastic about large format photography and about our national parks, and very down-to-earth. The youtube video I linked...

According to accounts, Frank died suddenly this past weekend. I had the privilege of meeting Frank a couple of years ago in Canyonlands.

  10. Re: 6x10 Collapsible Expansion Back for Deardorff 4x5 Special (mini-banquet format)

That is very lucky indeed. I was also interested in 6x10, but ended up going the 7x11 route b/c I believed I could find holders more readily.

I have also been playing with the idea for a folding...
  11. Re: 6x10 Collapsible Expansion Back for Deardorff 4x5 Special (mini-banquet format)

Agreed, but where in the world did you find 6x10 holders? Did you have them custom made or are they vintage?

Re: Blowing up a Kodak 2D to 12x20

    Thanks!

About $475, including $375 for the bellows. I bought the 8x10 2D with a lens and 5x7 back, and recouped the price by selling the lens and back, so the camera, sans bellows, rear frame and...

Will, the short answer to your question is no, but I can add some intel.
The G-MIXERBAG-2519 interior dimensions are 25.5” X 19.25” X 8”. The padding is fairly light, I would say about 1/4". So,...

I’m thinking of putting the holders on the GG side to prevent pressure from the rail. Or maybe one holder inside the spring back.

I received this case, and it seems an ideal fit for my 12x20, with room for at least two holders plus dark cloth and a few more accessories. Will post pics when I get back home next week.

Yes, that’s my concern as well. I will need to keep pressure where the base and front rails are and minimize pressure on the rear frame (and on the film holders if they are strapped to the camera).
