    ben, get the rosco filters. they are cheap and since you'll put it above the negative, it doesnt have to be optically perfect. i installed mine on the diffuser right under my cold light.

    ive been busted a few times for using a tripod... its not illegal but you may get a ticket for blocking egress. most times the cops will just shoo you along. argue your rights n then you can tell it...
