    Re: Intrepid 8x10 experiences?

Current production cameras are a bit different from early production examples. The focusing knob is deeper, the front rise/tilt knobs are easier to differentiate by touch, and they're easier to use,...

  3. Re: Epson V800-Kami or substitute for wet mounting

You get a bit more contrast and saturation with wet-mounting.

I want to be clear, though, that I'm not saying one has to wet-mount to get terrific results. Wet-mounting has a number of...

  5. Re: Epson V800-Kami or substitute for wet mounting

Yep, but high quality mineral spirits. Personally, I use Kami and Lumina. I have a lifetime supply, but people I respect use Gamosol. As far as I know, Drew doesn't do any wet-mount scanning on a...

  8. Re: Taking a class and now totally baffled

This type of thing has been talked about a lot here. My recommendation hasn't changed. Especially at the beginning, doing a full zone-system style test is a great idea. It will save a lot of pain...

I've tried to get one, but the times I looked, there wasn't a good choice. I'll keep at it.

Re: 4x5 lenses: telephoto and portraiture

If you get closer than 4 or 5 feet to your subject, elements closer to the camera will grow in size in the picture. That's one of the reasons that many prefer longer lenses for head and shoulders...

  17. Re: Does Anyone have any experience with the RH Designs Analyser Pro? Any thoughts on

I had one. I prefer to work using a Stopclock pro with the test strip function, but people work differently. If you use the same paper a lot, and you print a lot, the analyzer might be worth it.

    Re: TOYO 45AX bellows question...

I have a Toyo AX, and I have a 300mm lens that I use on it. That shouldn't be a problem. I also have the 4" extender, but I never use it.
