Maybe not the best example, but here is a shot of a metal bridge taken under a mostly overcast, flat sky. The camera angle was selected to bring out the texture of the metal bridgework.

I would say your time would be better spent on figuring when to reshoot the bridge - the time of day, quality and angle of light, absence of clouds, etc are not doing you any favors. I'd suggest...

One must always print to display the the full rebate, notches and film clip marks, otherwise it's not truly LF.
I'd say it is a new customization - I've not seen that in - oh - like 40 years. Certainly would not work if they were just spray painted though - would have to have been done in the manufacturing to...
Well, clearly its not a 4x5 camera. Appears to have a 4x5 reducing back though...
Good to know, thanks!
How about B&W prints -how have they turned out?
Adapted? Ya mean one of these?

Except for uncommon film, nope. You have more emulsion choices, in abundance in 4x5 versus 8x10. And there's the issue of losing notch codes when you cut down 8x10...
I find it hard to believe that Keith Canham would have made or sold these 4x10 film holders - they're not really "Canham" film holders are they?
If my 3880 had a reddish-brown tint on monochrome prints I would have thrown it out years ago. So I'm not sure your 4880 is operating correctly.
For price comparison, the P900 is currently $995 after a $200 rebate at B&H.
That's an extensive itinerary, but here are a few spots that you might consider if your route changes:
Shiprock, NM
Joshua Tree NP, CA
Bandon Beach, OR
Crater Lake, OR
Cannon Beach, OR
In...
There's no issue with multiple OSes talking to each other, so long as they can each talk to your network. Assuming your machines can talk to a local network, then your easiest solution is a wired...
It sounds like your goal is to make a living as a fine art photographer, but I may be filling in the blanks incorrectly. In addition to the advice from this forum, I suggest you talk in person to...
Affordable 4x5 cameras are offered for sale every week on this forum, which you will see after being a member for 30 days. I suggest buying any decent affordable kit and just start shooting now,...

Funny thing is I can get to the page using Edge but not Chrome. Must be some of the privacy settings are different.
The main thing is that traffic and postings to this site are way, way down, so...

Does it count if your 4000th post is one that announces you hit 4000 posts?
The Heliar and Ektar are quite different from each other - are you going for vintage sharpness or vintage softness? Also worth considering are the Verito/Veritar and Kodak Portrait lenses.
Good to see this...
Yikes! They look like overpriced digital shots, heavily retouched in Photoshop.
Tillman Crane has been selling Platinum prints for years, but not portraits, so might not be much help, but https://www.tillmancrane.com/platinum-prints/

Conferences are one thing, but shooting workshops are quite another. Tillman Crane used to shoot LF exclusively but no longer, however at his shooting workshops he encourages folks to shoot with...
Create your own infinity stops and shoot at f/16. All you need is a flashlight to set your focus at the infinity stop (or other preset hyperfocal distance) and set the f stop and you're done.
By their definition, the terms "luxury" and "sense" as in "sensible" are opposing terms. So no, it does not make sense, but when has that stopped anyone...
If you want to make an 8x10 contact print on glossy paper, then an internegative may have higher resolution and acutance, but it is a more difficult process to get a perfect internegative. On the...

Pulling and reinserting the dark slide is not the best way to check, so I am offering a better check on film loading.
Quadruple checking while loading is my approach. First double check is when I think the film is under both side rails, but before sliding the sheet the rest of the way in, I try to lift the film at...
The country of registration for imgbb.com is Iceland, but that may not indicate who's really behind it.
My approach when traveling with gear is: 1) keep it within my arm's reach; 2) locked in vehicle that is within my direct line of vision; or 3) secured someplace that is not easily pilferable. This...
A 90mm would be a good bet, doubtful a 65mm lens will work in a 45D.
Potentially that could be 3 different types of insurance. Your home insurance can add a rider for your photo equipment. Travel insurance could cover your equipment that is in your possession while...
