Re: Help with Super Topcor 5,6/120?

That 120mm has the biggest image circle of the Horseman 6x9cm lenses and can be used with the 4x5in step-up back. I used mine on my 4x5 Horseman FA for a while, until I got a lens allowing movements....
  3. Re: It happened to me! What Disasters or Near-misses have you had while Shooting?

A few years ago I re-build a camera battery pack with new cells. For whatever reason, inside the casing, the original had a red wire on the - and a black wire on the +. I was so stupid not to check....
  4. Re: It happened to me! What Disasters or Near-misses have you had while Shooting?

First day I mounted my 300mm lens on the front of my Century view. I composed a picture near a pond and as I tilted the camera forward, indeed the lens board popped out and the 300mm lens and Copal 3...
  5. Re: "New" Agfa Ansco 8x10 Universal Back Mounting Issue

Looks like a little damage on the back clips. Camera look like it needs a complete overhaul. How are the bellows?
  6. Re: film holders vs film hangers vs film carriers vs ... ?

Film Reel is for processing rollfilm
Film Reel is what a projectionist puts on the projector

Spool Film, verb, to roll film onto a spool

    Film Core,...
  7. Re: Photographing Darkroom Prints To Be Shown Online

I use a re-purposed swing-out filter holder on my enlarger, under the lens (not shown). I set an iPhone on that and bring lights in from the sides (not shown). I use the same easel for the picture as...
  8. Poll: Re: Gauging interest in scanning service based on DT Cultural Heritage Phase One syst

That is clever. In that case one could do the 'scan' of the original scene and do away with the film.
  9. Poll: Re: Gauging interest in scanning service based on DT Cultural Heritage Phase One syst

Those links seem to indicate the hardware is an optical 'instant capture' system rather than a scanner.

    Re: Durst TRA 450 Alternatives

I believe there is a suppression capacitor that blows on these. This picture is not mine, but from a friend. I helped him replace the suppression device via email. If I can find the email thread, we...
  12. Re: Film curves and density range in reversal development

That is a good question. Do you have a way to make H&D curves yourself?
  13. Re: Making separation negatives from color positive sheet film

If you are doing this you would have all the equipment to plot the H&D curves of the films in question exposed with your 3 filters and white light to see if they satisfy those criteria korkaks...
  14. Re: Let's see your landscape lens (with meniscus / achromat lens)

This is my Anthony lens. It is an Achromat and is very sharp. Although it is the 5x7 version, I use it on 8x10.

  15. Re: How hard is it to replace the bellows of Kodak Master View 810

It is a little bit of a pain, assuming it is like a Century. In that case, tacks hold it on the back and glue and a board in the front. Plenty of opportunities to create inadvertent light leaks. In...

Also, don't discount Crewdson's work without being familiar with his work, for example his Sanctuary series may have more appeal to the members of the forum here.

Re: Use 4x5 Beseler for smaller film?

I print Minox with my Omega 4x5 enlarger. I have the DISK carrier which has about a 9x11 opening, but you really need glass to hold them flat. So, I mask the glass carrier instead.

Re: Help with finding a proper cable release

You don't say if the lens is mounted with the index pin. If so, you can remove the pin and rotate the shutter 45 degrees and see if that solves the problem.
  24. Re: Neutral Density Filters with V54 Cold Light head

I'd agree that the ND filters for multigrade printing could be probably anything close to ND, but if concerned, I have read the Rosco Cinegel are more closely color neutral.

  25. Re: Neutral Density Filters with V54 Cold Light head

Not sure why you are having the exposure inconsistency. The thermostat in my Aristo kept it pretty even temp. between prints, but it heated up during it's typical long exposures with contrast filters...

    Re: Need densitometer reading

Do you have a spot meter. Place the negative in question over your spotmeter's lens. Every 1/3 of a stop the spotmeter reading drops represents 0.1 log d. Or every stop represents 0.3 log d.

    I...
  30. Re: Should I get a center filter for my 65mm Nikon-SW f/4 & 90mm Sinaron-W f/6.8?

I don't think you need complexity and expense of photoshop, during printing just burn the center with some cardboard.

Re: Need Guidance on Getting a Sensitometer

To plot the results from the sensitometer, you will need to know the values of the step wedge. Is it built-in to the 383? If so you will need to remove it to measure it with your densitometer. I had...
