I'm guessing that mistake has more to do with the camera you have. My 4x5 has a pretty positive feel when it seats.

Seems you forgot the photo
I really wasn't liking this thread until this shot.
I feel this should be a square crop
I like the tones, I like the composition, But I feel it's leaning left. The lines in the back immediately make me feel the horizontal is off.
I like the position of the tree, I like the tones. I don't like the feeling that I'm laying down looking at it. I feel the camera needed to be 3 feet higher.
The image overall is very pleasing. I probably wouldn't do anything different. The only thing I see is front tilt was used to get the fence and house in focus which softened the middle, but that is...
Excellent.
I use that same dilution for Fomapan. I find that it's easier to print. If I use 1+31 I spend more time with split contrast trying to get it the way I want.
Really nice specimen.
His tank and holder are fine, I use the same without issue.
Never had a problem developing my Fomapan 100. I'm not a big developer switcher and only use HC110. It's been fine pre rinsing or not pre rinsing.

This is my first image (screen shot from my youtube video). I forgot my light meter and it was developed using the taco method. Here is a link to the video also....
Excellent, the cool tone really adds to this.
I love the sprinkling of leaves on the rocks.
Just an FYI, Ilford warmtone gets darker as it dries.
There is a camera restore place that uses CLR rust remover.
Not sure if you purposely did it but I like the separation between the front light post and the one way in the back. It gives the photo depth.
Russia is such a beautiful country. I follow a photographer on Instagram from there (bonuseventus).
I suppose if I shot color I would do the hybrid method, Ben Horne comes to mind. Since most of my photography is black and white and my scanner really doesn't scan 4x5, I like the darkroom. There's...
Save one to write the process on and toss the rest.
They almost look like hairs to me. Like you lost some hair and it fell into the tray while developing. I've never presoaked my Ilford films, though I do presoak foma and Kodak because they have heavy...
There is a bunch of variety of leaves on the ground. To the right are some maple, at the base of the tree is either a red oak or black oak leaf. I can't think of what the front and center ones are....
The two lenses were actually in the front, this has now all been corrected and they are in proper orientation. I just have to now take another test shot.
Looking at the leaves it would be a white oak
Interesting look, I like the bottom one and bottom left of the 4.
Yes, it was too thick, used tape instead.
You put me on the right track. I reinstalled the lenes acorrdind to that article and added tape to the barrel to stiffen it up some. I'll post follow up pictures after I test the current...
I'll look into the felt. I have some felt with an adhesive back in my art box.
No you didn't confuse me, in front there are two elements. According to the article I just read, they are supposed to be in the rear.
After looking at this site it seems the 2 elements are supposed to be in the rear and the single in front.

I bought an unmarked lens and I have a couple questions. I figured the edges would be less sharp the further from center it got. The lens has 2 front elements and one rear. The rear has 144 written...
Nice, I just ordered a Petzval lens on Ebay. I hope to get something similar from it.

Son I was playing around with some DIY soft focus. I just used a piece of plexiglass and some Vaseline, I also stained the print with tea. This is on Ilford FB warmtone paper. My shutter is...
Looking at Petzval lenses, how do you tell the size in mm. If the lens is physically 6 1/2" long.
Am I the only one seeing the weird checkered pattern on her hair and building?

Here is the shot I submitted to the contest.

I was on the notify list at B&H for this film and just got an email letting me know it has been discontinued. Not sure if it's just the 4x5 or all sizes, but I was waiting for the 4x5.
I'll have to do some cropping with this shot. The buildings and the pole with transformer bothers me. I couldn't get a clean view because the place isn't open yet.
