  1. Re: Bergger Pancro 400 is now available in 11X14 and 16X20

One can home. I imagine these small manufacturers struggle the most with the ongoing supply chain issues.

    5x7 processing in Texas

    Hi,

I'm planning a trip around the U.S. for next year and would like to shoot colour 5x7" and get it processed there and then so it doesn't get damaged by x-rays on the way back to Australia....
  4. Re: Shanghai B & W film - Annual LF and ULF sheet film Campaign 2019

I'd be interested as well, I only see 4x5/5x7/8x10 listed now but I need 7x17 and 11x14.

    Re: 5x7/13x18 daylight processing

Wait for the 5x7 reel to come back into stock, it's worth it. And as for it being expensive for a piece of plastic - you've clearly not looked at Jobo prices yet.

Does the 150 XL really cover? What are the corners like, soft or vignetted?

Re: Show off your ULF camera

Wow do you think you could build another? That's crazy low weight for a 11x14.

    Re: Velvia 50 replacement

Provia or E100 but more realistically C-41 because large format E-6 film and processing is quickly vanishing in parts of the world not called USA/UK/Canada.

    Intrepid 4x5" MK4.

    Re: Wide Lenses for 4x5 & 8x10: 90mm to 165mm

A little outside your range but a Fujinon 180mm "inside lettering" will cover 8x10" nicely and is a great focal length in both formats in my opinion.

  16. Re: Velvia 50 4x5 and 8x10 and Fujicolor 160NS Professional 120 discontinued

The crucial difference here is that on the D-side people are trying to find the better image science because once you buy a camera, you're stuck with it. On analog you can switch between them from...
  17. Re: Velvia 50 4x5 and 8x10 and Fujicolor 160NS Professional 120 discontinued

Sorry but there is simply a Fuji "colour science" that is fundamentally different to Kodak and therefore Portra - while a fine film in its own right - will never replace Pro 400H or 160NS. Ektar is...
  18. Re: Velvia 50 4x5 and 8x10 and Fujicolor 160NS Professional 120 discontinued

Hardly unexpected, but still a sad day. It's a cruel joke the the press release states there is no replacement for 160NS yet offers up Velvia 100 as a replacement for Velvia 50 - these two emulsions...

Re: Lens length preferences in 7x17 format?

Not sure if it's kosher to resurrect such and ancient thread but I found the responses here useful, and it's not like the selection of lenses changed since then :)

  20. Re: Anyone Use Shanghai GP3 Film in 4x5 and 8x10

Re: Why no 180mm's for 8x10?

True but it's got to be the one with the writing on the inside of the barrel, the other one has a smaller image circle and doesn't cover at infinity.

Re: Velvia 100 discontinued in the US

No great loss, Velvia 50 is the real Velvia anyway - just a shame that it has to be imported from Japan.

    Re: 11x14" vs. 7x17"

For someone based in the U.S. that's true but if importing the film (like me), can be cheaper, e.g. there is ADOX CHS at 6.50 euro per sheet.

Yes it was a gross generalisation but the point I...

    Re: 11x14" vs. 7x17"

Yes that's indeed a big consideration, e.g. the Chamonix 7x17 is exactly the same width as my 8x10 Mark II. But then I think about the added complexity of developing 7x17 and that seems to balance...

    11x14" vs. 7x17"

Looking at the GG, sure. Once the dark slide is pulled - not so much. I like poker and sometimes you just have to play it with your Tachihara! I lose more often than not but I don't mind that.
