Re: How to get into ULF?

The problem in ULF is the film holders. Always buy a camera with holders, they are almost always non-standard. The cheapest option is a 7x17 banquet camera.

If you are building a camera I would...

Re: Budget wide angle lens for 8x10

Fujinon 210/5.6 with inside lettering is a good option. Computar 210/9 a more expensive option with more coverage. Both not quite as wide but nearly what you want. Otherwise, the gold star is the...

Had one. Barely covers straight on and needs the right camera given bellows and standard issues with vignetting.

    Re: Which Chamonix 4x5?

Another vote for the Chamonix - one of the N or F versions. Well made and parts are easy to come by. Bellows handle wide range of FL.

    Re: Fujinon-A 360mm f/10 picture examples

I completely agree to the last point. Might as well glue my Fujinon 360 to the front of my 8x10. Itís the light weight and huge coverage that make it such a special lens.

  14. Re: Need Advice on 16x20 cameras and film from owners/users

    Re: Nikkor 900mm f9 question

Agreed. The 35Ē RDA is a great option. Even fits in a Compound # 5 shutter if you have SK Grimes do the machining for you.
  16. Need Advice on 16x20 cameras and film from owners/users

Then maybe the Chamonix 11x14 if you want something new. Or a good condition Korona or similar used. 7x17 and 8x20 often come with short bellows to take portraits at banquets, hence their name.

  18. Re: Need Advice on 16x20 cameras and film from owners/users

I'd echo the above comments. I have a Chamonix 14x17 but much prefer my 11x14. I'd go with a Ritter (super light). But the holders are what actually weigh the most in ULF.
