Re: What did you compose at Waters Edge?

    Lol, indeed you did Peter!

I stood on the end of the small promontory overlooking the beach, and had to take care not to fall as the tripod went to the very edges, it was a 4-5m drop straight down...

This is the first halfway passable sheet I've found to share. No scanner, this is a simple DSLR snapshot on a light table, the chrome has a lot more detail, sharpness and depth. Still need to figure...

Re: What did you compose at Waters Edge?

From Pacific Valley, Big Sur. I see that I have a lot to learn when it comes to scanning and processing.

This was a snapshot with a DSLR on a light table, the negative looks better.

Tips for composing in low light?

Having recently returned from a road trip along the central coast of California (PCH), one thing that I found difficult was seeing my compositions in the ground glass in dim or low lighting, i.e....

    Hi,

Just got back from the trip, it was great. Very foggy, spent many hours hoping the sun would peek through before it set, and was rewarded on one of the days with 6 minutes of sunshine after ...

    Re: Large Format Landscapes

I'd say the previous one is better, or something in between if you want a more dramatic look. I think this is too dark and all the shadows lack any detail whatsoever.
