  1. Re: Kodak 4X5 B&W to be packaged in 10 sheet boxes (only)?

Clearly, Kodak's target market is students, and people who try large format for a day, shoot two film holders (forget to remove darkslide on one exposure, another double-exposed), and drop the idea...

    Re: Deardorff gone from eBay?

Would be nice to see someone buy the stock and continue to sell parts. Buying the business usually means assuming all debts and obligations, right? That seems crazy in this situation.
  3. Re: Suggestions for Epson 7900 with totally clogged Green and Light Cyan heads...

I had a badly clogged 3800 and let the print head sit on folded handiwipes soaked with windex. After two sessions of this, the head cleared completely.

Right--my point is that if the Alphax doesn't reduce the maximum aperture, the Ilex shouldn't.

    Re: Radar 12" F6.3?

Weird. An Ilex #5 has a 63mm maximum iris. Other 12" Radars mounted in #5 Alphax shutters have f/4.5 apertures and the Alphax has a 58mm maximum iris. Your should be f/4.5 despite the wonky marking.

    Re: Platinum Palladium from scratch

I make my own lithium chloropalladite--which can be used for developing out or printing out Pd/Pt. It's super easy, but the savings are minor. If shipping/customs are an issue, there's no reason not...

I ordered the Fool's Gold toner from B&S when it was available and never liked it much. There were issues with bleaching and uneven toning. Your results may differ, but there's probably a good reason...

Re: Ebony Camera Going Out of Business?

Funny, I just saw a fb post from someone who'd seen new Ebony Camera models in a meeting with the owner. Sad to see a maker of such fine cameras go out of business, if this ends up being true.
  10. Re: Which wood for a Chamonix F1 is better ... Teak or Maple?

My Chamonix 8x10 is teak, and the wood is beautiful and very high quality. Also have a 4x5 in walnut, which is equally nice. Chamonix has high standards for the wood they use.

I'd consider working out a deal with the seller as long as the lights are in good condition. Elinchrom makes high quality equipment and the extra features probably won't be a big deal. My flash gear...
  12. Re: Best LED Tactical Flashlight for photography? Suggestions/expeiences?

Got it on sale, but it still wasn't cheap. For a reasonably priced light, the Nitecore EC11 is excellent. Very small, but still 900 lumens with an IMR 1850 battery. Also has a red led mode. ...
  13. Re: Best LED Tactical Flashlight for photography? Suggestions/expeiences?

Nitecore TM26--basically a handheld search light. The current version kicks out 4000 lumens of neutral light from a focused array of four emitters. Built-in charger, uses 4 18650's, OLED...

    Re: Glossiness of Albumen Prints

Re: Anyone using a panning clamp?
