My first darkroom in Japan was in the kitchen corner. Big windows had to be covered up, but my wife wouldn't let me. Forget about the bathroom. Too small. And my wife would have flipped. So, the...

Welcome!
I've been reading up on him. He made Woodburytypes, too. Wow!
I think you should. Mainly film shooters over there, including myself.
I still shoot mainly large format but, I have to admit I don't participate here a much as I used to. I seem to be spending my time elsewhere. 950 users logged on, and only 119 members, 798 guests...
Cool! Is the Photrio crowd aware of your work?
I prefer is super realist drawings.

Sounds like fun!
Well, the continuation of my Japan coal mine project was buggered up due to covid. That's a project I've been working on (on when I'm there!) since mid 90's. Probably can't pick it up again until...
I shoot 8x10 and develop in Pyrocat-HD. EI 50.

I don't think I ever saw a photo of the finished camera, Pali K. I looked through this long thread and couldn't find one...

Smoke is still making its way up here... albeit thinner, today.
One of the most interesting images I've seen of Mono Lake. I love how the dark rock in the water looks like reflected clouds from the sky.
Beautiful camera... the only thing I don't like is having to tilt the camera on its side for verticals, and no front tilt capability. The 6cm minimum bellows is great. Is there a bag bellows for this...
Welcome! Tell us more about your photography, please.
After over a week of smoke from fires south of the Canada/US border, I hope we don't get any more! My brother, way out in Saskatchewan, said they even got some.
I bought a reconditioned Epson P400, on the recommendation of Sandy King last year on the carbon transfer forum. 13 inch wide is plenty big for me. It's 1.5 drop size results in smooth tones. After...
....aaaaaaand the smoke is back again, along with an invasion of your moths!! :(
I don't remember you, nor did you sell me anything, but I'll still say hi! :D
I just printed this inkjet negative. Stuck it in an enlarger at school darkroom. Printed on Ilford MG RC. 5x7. Scanned in the print. No adjustments made other than black and white points to match...
I can only speak for inkjet negatives. They are meant for contact printing. I think I'll make a digital inkjet negative and enlarge it just for fun...
Yesterday was pretty bad up here in BC, with lots of smoke from California and Washington. Today is better. Our fire season has been quite tame compared to previous summers...fingers crossed!
Inkjet digital negatives cannot be enlarged... well actually they can, but look like crap. They are meant to be contact printed. I've been making them for over 10 years and quite like working with...
Congratulations on taking the LF plunge and welcome to LFF!
Welcome!
I had issues with HP5, pyrocat-hd, and alt processes that I use....kallitype and carbon transfer. The only way I could get it to work was to develop it in a high contrast developer such as DK-50. FP4...
Welcome to large format, and the large format forum!

You mean like this one? ;)
Linhof is top notch gear. Is that a 4x5 camera? I started with a Cambo. I still have it but haven't used it since 1997.
Paul you could always try this data for Shanghai I posted for you at Photrio... I'll post it here for others to give it a whirl.

Nothing special. I just hold the tripod at approximate height, drop the legs, then tighten. With uneven terrain, there's a little more fiddling involved...but I try to get the tripod as level as...
I have a box of 8x10, and a couple of boxes of 4x5. I've gone through a few sheets of both formats, and was pleased. Here is one I shot on 8x10 last Spring. EI 50. It was developed in Pyrocat-HD.

Welcome aboard, June! I lived on Kyushu (near Fukuoka city), so very close geographically to Korea. Sadly, only passed through Seoul and Busan. I bought my first 4x5 camera in Japan back in the early...
Now that's a beauty! Please, do not relegate it to the bin! Someone will take it off your hands, I'm sure!
Thanks Oren. I couldn't find that page...
