    Re: Going Wide on 5x7

A 90mm Super Angulon is my normal wide angle for 5x7, but I have used a 75mm Nikkor-SW occasionally with the knowledge I'll have fall-off to compensate for later.

  3. Re: Disastrous Consequences (solved: fog with Intrepid lensboard)

Designing the front standard to use a "common" existing lens board size (e.g. Technika) would be my suggestion. They are common, easily available, and interchangeable with other 4x5 cameras.

Re: Lenses for new 5x7 / 6x17 kit

As someone who has this exact "kit" - a Canham 5x7 MQC and Canham 6x17 rollfilm back, my favorite lenses to shoot with the 6x17 back are the 90mm SA, 180mm Fujinon-W, and 270mm G-Claron. On a few...

    Re: Sturdy 4x5?

I agree - look for a 5x7 with a 4x5 back. More mass to the camera and a larger lensboard for your special lenses.

  26. Re: Epson V850 work-around for scanning 5x7 negatives.

I would avoid setting the negs directly on the glass if possible. In addition to Mr. Kashi's excellent solution, I made a decent 5x7 neg holder out of two pieces of mat board.
