Re: Epson 4990 vs Nikon D850?

Thanks. I use a Kaiser Slimlite Plano too, and it does a decent job. Sure, a 99 CRI panel would be preferable for colour work, but to get one in that size with good uniformity gets very expensive....

Re: Epson 4990 vs Nikon D850?

It won't be that much forever.

Besides, the A7RIV will give a not too dissimilar result for 1/3rd of the cost right now.

Re: Epson 4990 vs Nikon D850?

I used to use a D810 and stitching for my digitisation, and got good results (~ 90 megapixels for 4x5). These days I use a Sony A7RIV and pixel-shift capture of the whole frame, which is faster and...

Re: Suggest Me Some Monitors For Photo Editing

I use the BenQ SW271, and have been pretty happy with it.

27", 4K resolution, 10-bit colour with a 14-bit LUT and HDR capability. Obviously the Eizo ColorEdge CG319X would be nice, but I'm not...

    Many thanks.

I guess it may be because the energy and forms of the composition follow that same direction. Try as I might the clouds don't budge for me though ;)

  14. Re: Paterson Orbital: seeking advice on modifications for sheet film processing

    I don't need more GAS :)

The aspect ratio is intriguing I'll admit, but the lack of film options in that format would be a bit of a drag.

    Good to know, thanks.
  15. Re: Paterson Orbital: seeking advice on modifications for sheet film processing

    So, an update:

I went ahead with the rubber bumper mod as planned. I shot a couple of sheets of FP4+ today at EI 100, and developed them in the tank (set in opposite corners). I used a pre-soak...

  19. Re: Paterson Orbital: seeking advice on modifications for sheet film processing
