Long ago I had a darkroom in a free standing 2 car garage. In Memphis the weather can be pleasant often at night and I would open the door at night when printing. Now my darkroom is in the basement...

How did you frame and focus this shot? Did you have a small ladder or maybe the big rock served as a step?
Karl Hudson sells and services Heidelberg scanners. He might have a solution.

I work in commercial printing and we were warned by Heidelberg not to upgrade because it would wipe out our ability to make plates.
Our house was built in 1912 and also has a low basement ceiling. Like your house the floor joists are uneven. I used oriented strand board for the ceiling and walls. It has worked great and well...
Like others have mentioned I framed my basement darkroom away from the concrete walls and used black plastic for a vapor/light shield.
On those units the front shield was dark plex or something similar. The internal fans should cool the unit. I think the easiest solution would be a black out curtain. That is what all large plate...
I looked at the specs on the screen printing unit and because it uses CFL bulbs I believe the light would be very uneven. Do you need a contact frame as well? If not then something light this might...
Great shot of your wife. The skin has a wonderful glow.
That is great to have early photos of your Dad.
I just looked at the specs of museum glass from this company https://tru-vue.com/ and all of their products seem to have UV blocking coatings. I understand the desire to use it for framing, but in...
I like the Spampod.
I have made them using model airplane birch plywood. Deardorff boards will not fit because they have rounded corners.
Thanks for suggesting the Wheeler Wildlife Refuge. It sounds interesting.
I have not used this film, but my gut feeling is the emulsion is the grey side. If you lick your finger it should stick to the emulsion and not the base. Another test is to scrape the film with a...
cool!!!!
I had a humming bird buzz my head yesterday here in the inner city of Memphis.
I will echo what others have said about the spectro. We just had a new Epson 9000 installed at work and added the spectro for inline calibration. With Heidelberg prepress software it helps to...
We used to have a few of those fellows here on Beale Street up until the early 2000s. Somewhere there are a couple of photos of my wife and I dancing at Rum Boogie.
If no one helps you here I believe that there is an Imacon users group on Yahoo. Good Luck
Bill Steber does some interesting wetplate work in the delta. He is also a musician.

If that is red litho tape it should come off easily. The wild card is how long has it been on the film and how was the negative stored. The gum on that tape will clean off easily with film cleaner.
I did use the autofocus but found that the focus did shift when moving the enlarger up and down. However fine focusing with a grain magnifier was quick because the negative stayed close in focus.
I used a D-3 autofocus for several years. I only had a 150mm and a 50mm focusing track. I was able to us an 80mm lens for 120 printing by using a bellows focusing cone and the 50mm track. I gave...
Was Lawrence Jasud there when you attended?
I wonderful book. Thanks Merg.
I just bought a copy of that film and loved it. I only wished it were longer.
I use heavy glass to cool and flatten the prints. Glued on handles make it user friendly.
I use a large piece of grey PVC leaned against the wall. After fixing the print I give a quick rinse and place it on the board. I view the print with a 15watt white bulb. Anything brighter and I...
Wonderful lines and shapes Austin.
Great work Paul! Good luck with the show and book.
I am an always presoak in filtered tap water at the developer temp.
There used to be a ride to eat called Dances with Turtles held at Giant City Lodge. Great fried chicken there...... Now back to important art talk.
Film. Hands down this is the least expensive aspect of LF work. This is true even in today's higher prices.
I used to have a desk like that. In case you do not know it would hold a typewriter inside.
Good point Michael. I generally do not print beyond proofs once the water gets hot.
Where I live in Memphis the summer cold water gets up to 80-85 degrees. I place several gallon containers with filtered or distilled water in the darkroom a day before processing. The temp gets...
Unfortunately John the larger the print the more imperative a vacuum frame becomes.
When I shot with a monorail I used a cargo backback frame similar to this.....http://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabelas-Alaskan-Outfitter-Frame-and-Harness-Only/745196.uts
I still keep it with me when...
I look forward to the signed copy I ordered. Congratulations QT!
