The Cube is a fantastic head. Love it for fine adjustments, especially macro. I have no doubt that it is a creative tool helping me get better images easier. All the benefits of a geared head and...
It has an iris which can limit the spread down to a very small circle.
Who cares about someone else's intent? I am concerned with what would look the best. Not broad lighting on most portrait subjects, but aside from that, soft lens and hard light is a great...
It was a mistake doing the "test" handheld. The dof is razor thin. Any movement of the camera throws off the focus plane. Hard to make much out of this since the eyes are not consistently in focus.
Love the barn and the composition, Dan. Regarding the Canham 617 back, I have heard from several sources that these have issues with misfeeds. Any issues with yours? The bad rep has kept me on the...
The darkroom and systems have no value to anyone in the market besides you. Most buyers would just clear it out. The commercial space is pretty easy to get a value based on comparable sales. The...
If I wanted to understand the techniques of a view camera, this is the last place I'd start.
I discovered you about the time you retired. I might have some of the last you sold of certain items before stock ran out. I think you are about to enter cult status. Thanks for great design,...
Hi Marco. Go ahead and try it and report back. Just trying to help you out here.
This has been covered, but let me put in my .02. If all you needed was an online store, we'd all be too busy counting our money to post here. These services will do a good job of killing sales for...
And drinking to get that way in the evening golden hour. It is named the golden hour because that is the color of beer.
I second Monahans Sandhills. Also Hueco Tanks. White Sands National Monument, if you can work that in. San Antonio Missions. Texas Hill Country. Luckenbach, TX, Route 66. Texas Canyon (in NM)....
You can do 4x5, 5x7 and 617 with one camera. Light enough to put on a tripod and carry over your shoulder. Do macro 4x5 and have the extra bellows. Half the size and weight of 8x10 which is where...
Neither of those. I would buy a Ritter 8x10 or a Chamonix.
Here is a service that develops any format and does great scans on roll film. By far the best roll film scans I have found. They also do flatbed scans on sheet film.

I'd like to have a 5x8 Chamonix. Perfect aspect ratio and much more film available if you cut 8x10 in half. I have an 8x10 Chamonix and love it, but it is big to walk around with.
Just a small scrim to feather the light off an area in a portrait, usually the balding head of a man.
Cool. Dive in.
Just the supply lines. A lot of ink in those.
We had an IPF printer that died. We could not do a prep to move it downstairs and haul it away. As we started down the stairs the printer had to be tilted. Ink ran out everywhere. Ink is very...
I will agree with Erik. Mediocrity or worse.
Very nice work.
My neighbor just wanted to talk politics. Must have been because he is male and does not like dogs.
Thanks for the heads up. I just emailed Canham.
Nice first post. Maybe you are looking for affordable wedding photographs with a Deardorff? Is that what brought you here? How many photographs of your wedding would you need? 500? 1000? I...
Guess the photographer had to find a gimmick. He does not have much else.
I'd want to carry a notebook why, when I have my phone in my pocket?
I like it.
Cadillac mountain at sunrise, Bass Harbor LH at sunset. Wild Gardens of Acadia. Boulder beach. SW Harbor. Corea, Maine. Schoodic pennisula area of the park is beautiful and no one is there. ...
Ditto on the 120 Nikkor. I love it. Covers 8x10 so 4x10 would allow more movement. Don't see any stability issue on the Chamonix.
That's what my last model said about me.
Here is a great cart. Goes over sand or rocks, no problem.

Uline has any box you need.
