It won't be empty for long.
Better to buy real estate in Antarctica. Unlike the North Pole, it actually has land, and it was once very tropical. If fact, you can even drill for oil there, and...

A check on EBAY shows that three sold in the last three months for $800-900. Much depends on the condition of the glass and shutter, of course.
Welcome to the FORUM. You'll get a lot of advice/suggestions, and it will be difficult to decide which to take. And please don't take any of it personally.
My first point is, if you take a...
The Dinwoody Glaciers. I hauled my 4x5 in there -- on both sides of the Wind River range -- not enough times.
Likewise, there aren't any glaciers left in Glacier National Park, but the people in Montana don't depend on them for water -- like people in Quito (on the Equator!!!) and many other places do.
I couldn't have said it better myself. As it warms up, people will demand more A/C units.
More recently, it's happened several times before, when warming periods have melted enough ice "up north" that resulted in a cut-off of the Gulf Stream -- which is basically what keeps Europe from...
As you mentioned, the problem is not just in Death Valley. It's in CA & NV, as well. But don't forget Arizona -- OMG!!! And Utah & Wyoming. There was also lots of flash flooding here in Colorado...
You can only push the envelope so far -- but sometimes that's the only option.
WELCOME to the FORUM.
It sounds like you will have lots of subjects and fun with you 4x5.
Tell us more about your camera and how you came to have it? Did you find it in an attic or was it...
You can do it -- depending on the print size -- but your life will be much easier with a much shorter lens, like 80-105mm -- and these can be bought for next to nothing.
And after that, extend the bellows all the way and insert a light bulb to test for light leaks. These could be easily patched -- if any.
One difference between the Fujinon lens "price lists" and "catalogs" is that the catalogs were produced by Fuji, while the common US price lists were produced by D.O. Industries. The price lists...
I have two young grand nieces, and I would never under-estimate bubble gum's ability to glue strands of hair together -- for infinity. Even in Arizona heat.
Good luck with the epoxy!
Double-stick tape? OMG!!! Do as Bernice recommends -- use contact cement.
Next thing, they'll be using bubble gum!!!
Take another look at the '82 literature. It shows the rear cell of the 150mm f5.6 as 45mm. It's an NW, not an NSW. It and the 240mm AS are the only lenses with a rear cell that diameter.
Both...
When Fujinon changed the SWD series from 8/4 to 8/6 designs they kept the SWD designation. Even in the 1997 CM-W, black shutter-era literature, the three lenses are labeled SWD.

Depending on what lenses they actually came from, the front and rear might be quite valuable to some shutterbugs out there.
If you tell us the front and rear diameters of the two groups, we can...
I think you are right -- and if they are Fujinon, they are not marked. Only the front elements were. And the black shutter means it's fairly recent.
You can figure it out -- assuming they are...
I would never close up my field cameras with a lens inside -- even if they fit. 99% of the time, it would be the wrong lens.
I made the same mistake -- making the sink INSIDE the darkroom. Of course, at the time, I never entertained the thought that I might move some day.
I still miss the three feet I had to chop...
The Robos look like incredible studio gear -- like the Sinar. The good thing is that -- in the US anyway -- you can get them for about ten percent of the original cost.
For what it's worth, my NW 125mm f5.6 (52mm front thread) has an original rear cap marked "42". That is the outer diameter of the rear of the lens, and the inner diameter of the lens cap.

Any boating/marine/sailing shop will have a variety of waterproof paints. The epoxy paints are not just waterproof, they are chemical resistant.
Perhaps I missed it, but I'm really surprised that no one has suggested that the fixer in question be tested. It may be "old", but it's very easy to simply test it.
No need to get fancy. Some people on this board have a tendency to go overboard.
It's easy to figure out if it's functional -- i.e., working CLOSE to correctly.
Meter off a gray card in...
Cheer up, Bill. It's not like there is a shortage of good 8x10 gear out there.
I wasn't referring to the cost or quality of the Travelwide pinhole itself, but rather to the cost of the camera. You can get a top-quality pinhole itself for a few bucks -- and use it in a shoe box.
I've don't recall a special chassis, but anything is possible. Who is the "advertiser"? Beseler?
Seems to me like a pretty expensive pinhole camera -- especially is you like Quaker Oats, or bought some shoes recently.
The approach I use on my CB-7 -- which does not do wall projections like my 45MII -- is a Spiratone MIRROTACH (AKA, Asanuma SQUINTAR, Itorex ANGLE SCOPE 90, etc.). They use a Series VII adapter to...
The 45V column goes straight up and down on a single column. It's a single column, but very wide, so pretty stable. But large prints are a problem -- due to the straight column -- and need a...
I've recently had to take GERMANY off my ETSY list -- not because of shipping costs. Germany has a new waste reduction program -- packaging restrictions, which I think is a great idea. But the...
I too have seen international shipping costs to go through the roof -- like 50% -- in the last month (I'm in the USA). There are a few ways to deal with it, but not available for all shipments.
Imagine where you could be if you hadn't been vaccinated.
Hang in there. They expect to have a newer vaccine in the Fall that targets the Omicron variant.
That one works -- thanks.
I don't know why but that link does not work for me.

I'm only slightly familiar with the Speed Graphic. I assume, given its name, that it is designed for "fast action". Do you think it could catch flying dinner plates?
