I like this very much, you could start a cult following with it.

I love this. The first that came to mind was Birnam Wood comes to Dunsinane.
From my recollection, I always lost one stop of speed with Rodinal. The best advice I can give you is shoot three sheets, develop each one in 1:25, 1:50, and 1:100 and see which you like most. YMMV
Welcome back Joel. There's plenty of things worth photographing where you live. Enjoy !
Shouting Hello at you from the top of the mountain where I live.
I've been using dark red safe lights for over 60 years now. It allows me to use ortho materials as well.
I'm a dedicated follower of Denise Ross, bought her books and have been getting ready to start up.

I usually take half a dozen holders of whatever format I'm shooting. Of those I often have a couple of different films/speeds to choose from.
Of course, there is this option, it can be opened under a dark red safelight.

Yowza! I think they climb up and start whittling their way down with hammers and chisels.
Wonderful! I used to love photographing frost patterns on my windows way back when.
I keep a small electrostatic air cleaner running in my darkroom, and damp wipe/mop on a regular basis.
Same here.
"Who can make water look wet?"
Whenever I see a photograph involving water it's understood the water is wet, just as in real life. How the water is portrayed is another matter.
Exquisite!

Firmly grasp the lens body and try unscrewing it. If you must, get a channel lock pliers to grasp the retaining ring. Rodenstock Omegaron lenses aren't worth much.
This, plus it's prudent to have the septic tank cleaned (solids sucked out) at least every five years. This isn't my first home with a well and septic system, I dump spent developer, stop, and wash...
My previous dentist went digital, missed a cavity that went undiscovered until my new dentist saw it ON FILM. Sensitive tooth is now fixed.
First time I've shot 35mm in several years, testing a Nikon F4S I was considering buying.

Those are pretty straight forward and easy to disassemble. Take it apart, clean all the old grease out and re lube with a good quality synthetic grease then reassemble

Thank you Eric. I plan on returning to this place, there is much to photograph there (but I won't be descending the stairs to the gorge).
I will give up my 8x10 when they pry my cold dead hands from it. I don't care what it costs, it keeps me out of bar rooms.
I used aluminum flashing from the hardware for my dark slide, it comes in different widths. It usually has white on both sides or brown and white on either side and can be painted.
WOW, what a stunner!!
I've owned a couple of these heads, they are relatively simple to disassemble and clean. Once clean, apply new grease (I used synthetic lube) and reassemble. Old heads, old grease, and lotsa dirt...
Never mind, I re read the OP's post.
I carry my 8x10 in an extra large F-64 pack, it comes in smaller sizes but I can easily swap out my 5x7 or 4x5 gear in it....
I worked for Olan Mills in the early 7-'s, five poses in three minutes for a single subject, seven poses in ten minutes for a group. I routinely shot between 500 and 550 portrait sessions a week on...
When I shot 4x5 my favorite lens was a Ysarex 127mm scavenged from a Polaroid 110B. It lived on my Speed Press and rarely got switched out for any other focal length. I never warmed up to 135 or...
Out with the Nag yesterday with a specific shot to take (an ancient barn) but couldn't get the shot (beside a golf course and all the cars parked around it). So, I headed home via a roundabout route...
I was sitting on our deck enjoying the balmy 83 degree weather and was eyeing this dead oak in the back yard, so I grabbed my 5x7 and made the shot using "sunny 16" metering.

To the OP -- NO, don't do it. Not only is it not needed, but it could possibly be destructive. While we're on the subject of substitutions, DO NOT USE DISH WASHING DETERGENT FOR SURFACTANT. That's an...
