Man, I get cold just thinking about this story.
Very industrial beasties. Quite quintessential American metal. I believe like the Calumet 4x5 this was originally an Eastman Master camera.
Beseler went to a very dense (like particle board) with a laminate cover. I would find some really nice 3/4 " plywood and double it up. Unless you're willing to do some cabinetry, solid wood can warp...
I've bought old Kodak Blue toner, has a small glass bottle with gold chloride dissolved in Aqua Regia, box labeled do not mail! Got through several times. Not a big deal one at a time. When I had a...
Oh yeah this a good tip.
There's parts for most of the classic brass thermostatic mixing valves still available. It's just getting the right person who can help find the right parts.
5x7 contact prints are wonderful too. Cropped to 3 1/2 × 5 1/2 postcard sized is sublime. Many of our historical photos came from photo postcard contact prints.:o
Measure the outside diameter of the lens and look for "slip-on" lens caps. New from B&H, used at KEH or ebay.
Going to be cloudy
This forum is excellent. APUG seems to have more and more people that tend to debate plastic or glass, agitation etc. I often scan my peepers on LFPF for relief, and people who dare great things....
Welcome
That's great. Nice to see you practicing the magic in your darkroom.
Welcome back, I come and go. Love my darkroom.
Best place on the web, I believe his wife takes care of the computer, 3 bucks is cheap.
That's a terrific suggestion about filling the tank with water, works great.
Welcome from a frequent visitor, less frequent contributor.
I agree but it makes loading a snap.
Yep, find a 2830. The clips are essential, I think Catlabs would have all this.
I found same setup, Zone VI type 2, a 5x7 and an 8x10. In really beautiful shape. I moved both by myself with a Subaru. I have these in my basement darkroom built into a extremely sturdy setting. ...
Good advice!!
Right now I'm using quite a bit of Fomatone, but I use Ilford papers too. I need to get in more darkroom time. Toning Fomatone is tricky as it can be quite dramatic.
Good job. My friend has a "baby" 16x20 Robertson process camera. Lots of fun. I always thought it would make an amazing enlarger. I'm not sure what will happen to the thing. Sits pretty much unused
Excellent video. I love toners! I use the Kodak Blue toner (gold chloride, tartaric acid etc) the Kodak Blue toner is too potent for a lot of what I do.
What are you using for "dilute" gold toner?...
I use a Jobo. Forever I used 1/2 gallon Kodak hard rubber tanks, with 4x5 hangers, 6 at a time. Back in the day I used replenished HC-110 dilution B. Now I use XTOL on the Jobo. Lots of rubber tanks...
Love the Elwoods
Welcome. I have so much junk (treasure) it's impossible to list. Keep after it!
Nice article. Creative people are very cool!!
Welcome from Iowa City Iowa!!
Welcome
Looks great. Fun!!!
Love this picture, I worked with several free and fabulous 5x7 Elwoods over the years. A friend has an 8x10, exactly the same just bigger.
Welcome
Welcome to the large format photography forum. Lots of information here. Welcome!
UV for slow chloride papers would be feasible.
I think you would need carbon arc lights and then you would melt everything  Duplicating the sun is the goal. Remembering the illustrations of ladies making POP contact prints, early Eastman...
WOW, this is my childhood. My Dad had that projector, shot nothing but Kodachrome, I still have all the slides, he shot an Argus of some sort. Images are beautiful. Thanks for sharing!!
I use the Brumberger models. A 11x14 Brumberger is huge, as big as a microwave oven. I have a bunch of different paper safes. The easiest to use are the clamshell like black plastic models. These are...
Welcome, very nice people here.
Best Regards Mike
Welcome. I'm fond of the Crown Graphic as very light weight. Lots of beautiful cameras available in Japan!
