    I'll say! Looks really good!
  2. Re: Orotone work in Dallas on 32” x 38” dry plates

    Excellent Jason! Way to go!!
I had to Google "orotone". And now I've learned about another historic process.
    Keep up the great work!

Re: 5x7 Gandolfi with 4x5 Back

My 5x7 is a Gandolfi. Judging by the size of your ground glass, it does look like yours is capable of 5x7. Measure as Tracy suggested above. It's not a complicated project to make a back if you have...
  4. Re: Has anyone designed and built their own camera bag?

I did once ('80's) design a camera bag for my Wista 45 and two lenses (plus some film holders). I then had my mom sew it from scratch using my drawings.
Mom was like that - very talented and a...

    Re: 8x10 platform head options

FLM CP-38. I still have my Rieses (2 Ries, A & J...) But the CP-38 works fabulously well from 5x7 through 8x10 to 12x20. For the last I use a half-ball strictly for levelling as that's all a pano...
  6. Re: Looking for a budget 360mm for portraits?

One man's budget is another man's bankruptcy. Just sayin'....
It would be nice if you could be specific.

I have an 8x10 Tessar 1C, marked 11 13/16" FL which gives a lovely rendition. These lenses...
  7. Re: Photo travel by vehicle, what's your favorite?

Back when I lived in California I had a Eurovan Camper that I loved. It was great! Comfortable, both on the road and in the campsite. I took it several times to Yosemite. The great thing about it (I...

  10. Re: I'm not sure if it's a popular size, but can I get some 5x7 camera recommendation

5x7 may well be underappreciated. But it is well represented even on the "new" market alone. When you consider the used market, there are lots of options. Two that I've had (the wood Canham and the...

The link says, "5:30-7:00pm MST". However, if I am to believe Google, New Mexico observes daylight savings time. So plan wisely.

Is anyone making a portable changing tent that's reliable?

  19. Re: Wisner Technical Field 11x14 Lensboards

I'm sorry Richard. I didn't mean to speak out of turn. If anyone should know, it's you. And, too, in conversation at one time, Ron Wisner explained to me that his choice of a 5 1/4" lensboard size...
  20. Re: Wisner Technical Field 11x14 Lensboards

The "large" Wisner lens boards are nominally 5 1/4" x 5 1/4". Wisner made no larger.
Don't ask me how I know!

If your camera truly measures differently, you might want to get a second opinion....

Have you found reliable external dimensions anywhere for the 2519? I agree the inside dimensions are most critical to fitting the camera. But then the case has to reside somewhere, either...

    Re: 10 3/4" Dagor for 7/17?

Yes, the 10 3/4" Dagor absolutely covers 7x17. And it is a great focal length for that format.

I no longer pursue 7x17, but when I did, it was a favorite focal length. The lens I had I purchased...

  29. Re: 210 for travel and landscape: Heliar or Schneider?

  35. Re: First and hopefully only lens for landscape?

  36. Re: Nikkor SW 150 on Canham 8x10 Lightweight?
