  1. Re: Video of Ansel Adams' Story of Visualization Breakthrough

That adjective, like its root noun, has no meaning in any situation. "Art" is whatever anyone wants it to be. Thus, the words convey nothing.
  2. Re: Video of Ansel Adams' Story of Visualization Breakthrough

I recently re-read my copy of Mary Alinder's AA biography 23 years after the first time through it. Most glaring in that video is how Michael Adams refers to his father as "Ansel" rather than "Dad."...

    Re: 8x10 Film Choice Paralysis

Unless you're equipped and planning to enlarge substantially, I'd not hesitate about going with HP5 Plus. FP4 Plus is slow. Delta's sharpness is wasted in 8x10. Develop the HP5 Plus using XTOL...

Thanks for that clarification. Images of a shutter-mounted XVa I've been able to find on line did not make it obvious. With your first-hand information, it's clear that either a Nikon or other...

  7. Re: Contact printing “how-to” but as a final product, not a proof.

There appears to be difficulty in photographers communicating about this subject. "Density range" is frequently cited as a chloride contact printing paper advantage. But what does the phrase mean?...

How unfortunate that Delaware North received even a penny. It should have been held responsible for the government's legal fees during this mess that it created.

I wonder if the scale model was one created by Argonaught Holdings (HARMAN's landlord) for its failed attempt to obtain approval of the Mobberley site redevelopment. :)

    Re: Developer CAPACITY question

That's a typo and should instead read "16." Right above it are the correct "4" for 135-36 and 120, each of which is 80 square inches just like an 8x10 sheet.

Expose at EI 64 and develop in XTOL 1+1. The curve will naturally roll off exactly where you need it to. See the characteristic curve here:

Not anyone who knows that Gordon Hutchings subsequently advised against doing it.

No, it only adds to general stain. Which is why Hutchings changed his approach.
