It will be a "must-see" for me.
If there's no way for you to test beforehand, then pretty much all you can do is take 2 shots of each image at "box speed", process one sheet of each, evaluate, and process (push/pull) 2nd sheet...
Excellent images, Tuco, John and Austin!
Austin, that is an amazing image...the beauty of tragedy.
The chiaroscuro reminds me of a Brett Weston-type abstract when taken out of the context of the...
I second what Philip said.
Push in and slide the two saw-toothed protrusions, and the ground glass assembly will come off.
Don't drop it.
Then you can mount the LomoGraflok back.
My 45D...
Kaiser is a good source of push-on lens caps
I use a micrometer, and measure in mm's. Fractions of inches are a pain.
How about using the chassis from a dead lawnmower?
Custom Bellows does top-notch work.
Apparent aperture is the measured size as viewed from the front, whether there's a front element in place or not.
I agree with Randy.
Very much an "Equivalent".
Nicely seen & executed.
Bravo!
Beautiful work, simongg... well seen & captured!
Looks like HP5+ .... although the reddish anti-halation coloring threw me off.
Probably from an ULF program run, might be factory cut to size.

Figured I'd include development times. :)...
I have no experience with Linhofs, but I have used the infinity stops on my Speed Graphics.
My methodology is:
Set up the camera with the lens.
Open aperture to maximum, shutter open on T.
Focus...
Tim at filterfind.net is a good source for Series filters & adapters.
If you want to throw money at the problem, SK Grimes makes beautiful custom slip-on adapters to allow standard-size screw-in...
Infinity stops are useful for landscape/distance photos...they allow quicker setup.
Are you planning on using it on a camera or enlarger?
If camera, used horizontally, you might be able to use hot-melt glue, or black silicone to make a bead around the threads inside of the...
The Xenotars are in high demand for their fast, wide-open
apertures and minimal depth of focus, which, when combined with a multi-blade round aperture create a pleasing out-of -focus "bokeh". ...
Those look like Fujichrome notches.
Hi,
A quick way to see if the shutter thicknesses are the same is to remove the cells from both shutters, and measure from the front cell mounting surface to the rear cell mounting surface (usually...
Yes, the focal length gets shorter, and the apparent aperture stays the same.
You might also try a 15" f/5.6 Wollensak Telephoto...remove the rear element, and it becomes an ~180mm f/2.8 SF lens that covers 5x7.
Congratulations!
As an aside, those lenses make dandy soft-focus lenses if you remove the rear element....makes an ~180mm f2.8 SF lens that covers 5x7.
I have a couple of them dedicated for that.
Yes, one tiny set screw.
Careful with the strap wrench, the pivot point on the wrench can make a dent in the lens barrel.
Good luck!
I've been in that situation.
1st, I'd wrap a rubber band around the lens barrel for better grip.
No luck? OK.
2nd, I'd put an automotive screw-type hose clamp over the rubber band, so not to...
Thanks, Oren!
customphototools.com is the website of the machinist in Portugal.
Ok, understood.
There's a machinist in Portugal, customphototools.com who might be a possible source.
Ok, it looks like you are looking for a flange to mount the barrel lens to a lensboard....sorry, mine is long gone.
Maybe try a WTB ad?
You might want to check "The List", a great source of info compiled by Dan Fromm, at the very beginning of this sub-forum.
That said, SK Grimes did a great job mounting my 12" RDA into a Copal #1...
There will be an information sheet inside the box...usually with obscure developers like D-11, D-19, DK-50...
The should be info in an old copy of the Kodak Master Darkroom Guide.
I'll look to see...
For contact prints from 5x7, grain isn't much of an issue. Rodinal is economical, easy to mix, the concentrate keeps forever, and it has great 'adjacency effect'. I don't like mushy grain.
That's my...
Has anyone else seen "Why Man Creates", the short film by Saul Bass?
It's an interesting, light-hearted exploration....it's on the Yu-Toobz.
Nice image, Randy!
Arista 400 EDU 5x7 developed in Rodinal 1:50 is one of my go-to combinations.
I plan on mixing up some D-23 to try with it for comparison.
Wollensak made a 9 1/2" (241mm) f4.5 Velostigmat...with and without the soft-focus Fuzzulator. It was intended for Whole Plate (6 1/2" x 8 1/2"), so it should fit your needs. They would fit in an...
Sometimes the subject is the subject.
Sometimes the OOF highlights in the background are the subject.
Sometimes the lighting is the subject.

Congratulations, Bryan, you've got some outstanding images from your trip, I can't wait to see more!
If you put a big, heavy lens farther in front of the front standard than usual without a 'crutch', you are asking for unintentional front forward tilt...especially on an older wood camera. I have a...
Beautiful craftsmanship!
I hope you didn't panic....
You might need to unscrew the rear cells from the shutter before unscrewing the shutter from the lens board.
Don't force anything!
You will need to remove the threaded flange from the front of the...
