Very special! Certainly a nude portrait which does not run the beaten paths, like it, and it doesn’t become boring I think

    Re: Portraits from 2022

Very well done portrait in technical sense of photography. The facial expression of the model is reserved and a bit on guard. Is that an expression of the current state of the relation between men...

    Re: Large Format Landscapes

I agree with most of this, and actually never a fan of crooked horizons, but somehow in this image it doesn’t disturb me. It seems to contribute to it even.

    Re: Nikkor-SW 75mm f / 4.5 on Chamonix 45F2

I had a 75 once on my Linhof Technica and used it for architecture. The lens is a lot wider than the 90 in the sense of oblique perspective lines. Given the the fact that I used it on a Technica, the...

Re: would flashing help me in this situation?

Totally agree. Total detail in the sky is only possible when placed in Zone V which is mostly unnatural. The detail is in the crushed metal which is in fact the subject. You could vignet the whole...

  14. Re: What’s your most “unpopular” opinion about LF?

These are all very popular statements for me
  15. Re: What’s your most “unpopular” opinion about LF?

A hobby of grumpy old men that have an obsession with getting the final great greyscale with static scenes that have already been done a Thousand times. LF is the least powerfull of all formats in...

    Re: Large Format Landscapes

Interesting is that the scene #16248 does it much much better with Tmax100 than this one. Subtlety is not the strongest trait of this film and this photo shows that, while this turned out so well in...

  20. Re: Developing HP5+ in PMK, sheets vs. 35mm roll film routine

Since I get a quite dark pine green water after presoaking HP5+ 3’, I never skip the presoak. This color of the film might have a proportional bigger impact on the image for 35mm than for larger...

Great image, unique shot and craftmanship (I never got my Tmax healthy coming out of my HC110), great tonal scale here.

Nice composition and tones, like it. How did you work in the sheet number? Fidelity used to have these numbers on a dial in its most recent holders, can’t find them anywhere.

I like it very much, presentation is quite fit for this very Scottish landscape
  32. Re: Bellows extension while using close-up filter

I may be crazy but correcting the exposure value for bellow extension has to do with the length the foton has to travel from the lens to the film, a close-up lens with a zero filter factor changes...
  33. Re: Is fiber paper worth the additional cost for selling prints compared to rc paper?

Absolutely worth the extra cost. The quality of the paper, the thickness, the perfect balance between glossy and matte, the impression of depth in the picture. The thickness of the paper makes all...
  34. Re: What is about the right size for a dark cloth for a 4x5" camera?

About that size yes, the thinnest possible cotton, no polyamides or that sort of plastic; it has to absorb humid because it can get hot in there. some even have a white cover at the outside, but I...

Re: Tripod Head Recommendations for 4x5

I own Arca Swiss P0 Hybrid and the RSS BH-55. I use the Arca when going lightweight. With both I'm not very happy. I do not see the big deal in ball-heads under a 4x5" camera's actually. For me it's...

This is not about sharpness and grain alone, but pretty much about tonal differentiation too. And this is a great plus for landscape and offers a nice alternative for FP4+ which I really like for...
