Re: How to Correct For a Spot With PS?

Healing brush is almost always the best choice for retouching spots and flaws. Clone stamp is more for making a direct copy of something. It's possible to finesse Clone Stamp to get an end result...

    Re: Giving Voice..

It's possible for the subject intended by the photographer and the subject as perceived by the viewer to be two different things. I think it only matters if the artist is particularly sensitive about...

    Re: Cleaning Blix container?

I don't see people having the ability to do this at home, since it requires more extensive apparatus than just a big tank of argon. And you'd need to know how to correctly do the evacuation procedure...

    Re: Cleaning Blix container?

I reuse plastic bottles from flavored seltzer, the 1L ones are perfect. When they get gross, I just throw them out. I doubt they can be recycled after the chemical contamination. I reuse many times...

I gave it a try on that little image just to see what tools seemed to work best. It ended up being Healing Brush on the spot in the sky and Clone Stamp on the railing.

Re: How to Correct For a Spot With PS?

The tool you'd usually use is Healing Brush. The content aware one is only in newer PS, but I'm pretty sure the "normal" Healing Brush is in the older versions. As already mentioned, Patch or Clone...
  9. Re: After coating Kallitype and Platinum...

I also heartily recommend Artcraft Chemicals for everything to make these kind of prints. Excellent prices and service.
  10. Re: After coating Kallitype and Platinum...

I've found that kallitypes can sit for awhile, but I haven't done that with platinum. Long ago, they sold ready-made platinum paper, so I'm assuming it's possible with at least some formulas.
    I've...

    Re: Epson P700 printer, impressed

I went to this show. The prints looked good, but it was a little bit disappointing not to see the original dye transfer ones I'd always heard so much about. But that's only because I'm a photo nerd...

  14. Re: Processing 510 Pyro & 100TMX with Jobo CPP-2

Oh c'mon... I've made good alt prints (Chrysotype, Platinum, etc...) from HP5, and had plenty of density and contrast for it. And I know I'm not the only one.
  15. Re: How To Create Dense & Contrasty Film Negs For Alt Prints?

I had good results with developing green sensitive X-ray film in Rodinal 1:50 dilution at around 5 minutes development at 20C. Metered at ISO100. Printed good with cyanotype and with gum pigment....

    Re: Epson P700 printer, impressed

Congrats on the new printer! My 2 cents of advice from having used various Epsons is that if it's going to sit idle for a week or more, you should print out one of the nozzle check test pages once a...

    Re: Goerz red dot lens

I have this exact lens. It's a good match to an 8x10 or larger camera, but also good with 5x7. The long focal length means you'll need at camera with a long bellows to do any portrait or close shots....

What kind of agitation did you use? I'm thinking it might be something to do with the viscosity of the developer and/or how it reacts to the film. Could be other factors from whatever else is in the...

  37. Re: Bergger pancro 400 in bergspeed: Unseen base fog

  38. Re: Bergger pancro 400 in bergspeed: Unseen base fog

  39. Re: Bergger pancro 400 in bergspeed: Unseen base fog
