    Outstanding photo, Inochkin!
  2. Re: Anniversary Speed Graphic 4x5 Top Viewfinder Question

Your best bet might be to find a complete used finder. They show up on Ebay occasionally, when someone strips a Graphic down for a field camera, or parts one out.

4x5 on a 2000 mi. hike will be hard...if it's a challenge you're looking for, why not do wet plate? It's kinda the in thing these days. :)

Re: Help me choose a camera to hike 2000+ miles

Back in the early 1990's, I was planning on hiking the Appalachian Trail with a camera. I got as far as buying a Fuji G645S rangefinder..the one with the "roll bar" around the lens. Sharp as heck! I...

Re: E-Bay and PayPal: What should I know?

Ebay charges fees on the sale price of the item AND the shipping cost, so figure that into your cost.
They also collect sales tax automatically, and remit it so you don't have to...avoids a big...

    Re: Lens coating removal question

Hi, thanks for clearing that up.
I have given up trying to clean the lens element, it is micro-pitted, and not worth putting much effort into it.
Using thin superglue, as per LabRat, did knock...

Superman9, I like that image. Very well seen & executed. Some may not like the deep shadows of the foreground rocks, wanting to see detail there, but I have no issue with it. Well done, an...

A quick phone shot of the ground glass.
Some semi- backlit leaves. Had to use hand as a lens shade. Wide open. Pretty flarey...will try again under more controlled circumstances.203732

    Re: Experience with Colenta Processors

I worked in a lab that had Colenta C-41 processor for 35mm & 120. Lots of scratches. High maintenance. We ran more clean-up sheets than film. Not recommended.

    Re: Lens coating removal question

Ok, I tried Isopropyl alcohol, I tried undiluted Stop Bath. I tried toothpaste. No change.

Thank you for the suggestions, everybody!
I will try isopropyl alcohol first, then undiluted indicator stop bath, then baking soda, then jeweler's rouge.
    Should be an interesting experiment!...

    Lens coating removal question

    Hi,
I have an old Wolly Raptar with cloudy Wocote coating on the front element....
I'm considering a make-it-or-break-it effort to make it a semi-useful sorta-focus lens. The coating issue kills...

I used to use my CC-400 in the field. Carried it in an old Army surplus rucksack/backpack, tripod in one hand, bag of film holders, meter, loupe and darkcloth in the other.
    Enjoy!

  35. Re: Idea pitch: Electrochromic glass shutter, would it be possible?

Is it possible to make optical glass electrochromic?
If so, a front-mounted "ePackard" shutter would be interesting, with minimal optical effect, it would be like using a filter.
