Re: What kind of lens has aperture scale in mm?

It indeed was a Zeiss lens - 500mm f/4.5 Tessar. The name was under the tape that had been wrapped around the top of the barrel.

It can be that I got very unlucky. My success rate so far is 1/4. The main risk factor for me is that I have never gotten the tax back and everything entering the EU is taxed on the sales price, used...

Re: Process lens image circle nature

I ordered Goerz 30 inch F12.5 Apochromat Artar for my project. The main influence was weight and tiny bit shorter focal length. With both combined I could even hope to use this lens on my 11x14 for...

Re: Ebay - lenses from Japan

I think that the long term strategy in such case is to find an expert friend who will not expire before the due date.

Joking aside, I am considering something along the same lines for exceptional...

    Re: Which lens next?

I think it is positive a development. It will make using shorter lens for ULF portrait more acceptable. :) At least in a short run until the market will catch up.

What kind of lens has aperture scale in mm?

  20. Re: Alternative to the Schneider Xenotar 150mm F2.8 for 4x5?

I think that Aero Ektar is optically a very interesting lens if you can afford it.

My personal understanding is that it is a fairly strong radiation source at very close distance (I would not...
  21. Combining two Petzvals, would it make sense?

  24. Re: Can you diagnose this patchy look of the lens?

Should the fungus look more like a spiderwebs or this is an early stage of it? Or this is the result after cleaning?
  25. Re: Alternative to the Schneider Xenotar 150mm F2.8 for 4x5?

Mind you that all Aero Ektars are radioactive. I think this is something you should be aware of.
  26. Re: Alternative to the Schneider Xenotar 150mm F2.8 for 4x5?

I think it is 152mm. Does not come up very often. Do you have any experience with it?
  27. Re: Will a Projector Lens Work on a View Camera?

I have not used this lens but according to the image examples found I would say that it will work fine for closer distances on 4x5. Try to use image search with the lens name and see what you find.
  28. Can you diagnose this patchy look of the lens?

I am considering to buy a Rodenstock Eurygon 300mm 4.5 but on closer look it appears that the front glass is a bit patchy and I could not think what to make out of it. What could it be?
