Nice shot Steve. I think it's over sharpened however. It also seems like you uprezed it from a lower scanning resolution.

Bryan, Pretty impressive darkroom. I just noticed something I have a question about. Fluorescent lamps. My "green" light bulbs continue to glow awhile after turning off. Only some do, the...

If you set your view on Auto, Youtube will send out the resolution to fit your bandwidth. Or you can select the resolution manually.
  12. Re: [Video] An urban landscape photograph and some thoughts on Youtube photographers

Great movie. I like that it was short. I think narration would be helpful as to why you're doing things. I'm new to 4x5 photography. So I'm looking to learn everything I can. Don;t stop doing...
  13. Re: Light Meter for Large Format (4x5) Landscape Photography

Thanks for that. I guess my questions is about which part of the scene do you aim it out since it's relatively wide compared to a 1 degree spot. I don't use the zone system. With my 10 degree, I...

What circle of confusion size do you use when figuring DOF and f stop in a 4x5?
  15. Re: Light Meter for Large Format (4x5) Landscape Photography

How do you use the 5 degree spot? I ask because I have a 10 degree with my Minolta meter.

    Re: Old Things,Farms,Barns,Buildings, Plus

Thanks. My wife says the fence and the barn are competing with each other. I have two subjects. She has a point. One thing I noticed. This was taken with a Fujinon SWD 75mm f/5.6 lens without a...
  18. Re: Light Meter for Large Format (4x5) Landscape Photography

I started experimenting with using a micro 4/3 digital digital camera as my meter.

    It provides the following advantages:
    1. Histogram
    2. Spot meter especially when zoomed in
    3. Allows me to...

  23. Re: How To Figure Out Subject Distance To Camera For Infinity?

Often, I'll calculate the DOF based on some chart or the lens, and then add a stop on my aperture for good measure. Just in case I figured wrong or placed the focal point at the wrong distance from...

  26. Re: How To Figure Out Subject Distance To Camera For Infinity?

In addition to the above, could you prefocus at home to a specific distance and mark that point on the camera's bed? When you get to the zoo, just move the focus to that point and shoot away.

Thanks Doremus. That's a lot to digest. I'm going to have to pull out my camera and just play with it on different scenes without actually shooting anything.

Re: How does rear tilt affect front tilt?

Re: How does rear tilt affect front tilt?

What I'm confused with the DOF focusing, is that do you have to move the focus standards? If so, haven't you just destroyed the whole focusing process you did initially? Also, what do you do after...

  40. Re: Epson V800-Kami or substitute for wet mounting

The OP is scanning 5x7. There are no holders for that size. So he has to scan on the glass platen and/or use a wet mount holder and use the second V850 lens. It is not as sharp nor does it allow...
