I am not "nearby", and can't make this show but I have seen Richard's work first-hand in Pennsylvania several years back.

    Really solid photography, this. Go...

Re: Aperture Magazine just set me an e-mail

Years ago, Ansel Adams said of Aperture "It's a sorry mess". That is quite a lot to say for someone who had helped found the magazine!

I think he'd be forced to come to the same conclusion...
  6. Re: Recommendations for Galleries between LA > San Fran

You just have to go to Carmel - it is a must (galleries there already mentioned). You can also go to Point Lobos while you're at it and check out Edward Weston's old stomping grounds. You may want to...

  8. Re: Comments about my National Parks photographs

Well, QT, I disagree with some of the things said by the reviewer, but the disjunctive perturbation of the negative space makes resonant the essentially transitional quality. It should also be added...

  11. Re: Ever worry about getting shot while using your spotmeter?

Sad question/concern. Is this really the state of affairs in the US now? Say it ain't so. Go back 25 years, if you're old enough, and try to envision posing such a question or try to fathom being...
  12. A Photoshop Question on transparent background

A pro at Photoshop I am not, but many of you are so here goes:

    Re: Show off your camera!

Thanks, Miguel. I use a 355 G-Claron and a 480 ApoRonar on the 7x17 and I have even used my 165 SA on it a few times (w/vignetting). A 600 or longer would be welcome too.
