Re: Problems in Processed 4x5 Film

I may be a million miles off but those marks look remarkably similar to the ones a friend got a few years ago when he processed film in a Mod54 film holder and mistakenly put the film in with the...
  2. Re: Lubricating movements on MPP Micro Technical mkVIII

I have never seen a MkVIII with side levers but to be honest I don't know for sure. I understand that some parts from damaged cameras, including front standards c/w bellows, could be reassembled to...
  3. Re: Lubricating movements on MPP Micro Technical mkVIII

You're very welcome, glad to be of help. It can be a bit fiddly but I guess that's why the designed changed to the front levers, much easier.
  4. Re: Lubricating movements on MPP Micro Technical mkVIII

In the interests of thread continuity these are similar images from my MkVII camera which does have the side release levers.

  5. Re: Lubricating movements on MPP Micro Technical mkVIII

Ok, to get at the lever pivot points:
    228421
Drop the bed to it's normal position then press the release levers again to lower the bed to it's full dropped position shown above.

  6. Re: Lubricating movements on MPP Micro Technical mkVIII

Is it the 'stiffness' of the two thumb levers(see photo) that is the issue or sliding the standard along the bed?

Bear in mind that the two levers have to overcome the strong springs...

That is the way it is designed to be used, check the instruction booklet. Personally I think it's awful and never use it.

  13. Re: SP445 film holder marks on negatives ( how to do this intentionally )

Good luck with your attempt 1erCru. I have been using the SP-445 tank since it the V2 holders came out and after hundreds of films I've never had one that had the 'shadows' of the bars that, unlike...
  14. Re: SP445 film holder marks on negatives ( how to do this intentionally )

I'm not sure what you mean, are you referring to the 7 small film retaining tabs on the front of the holder or the longitudianal bars of the body of the holder?

    Re: Ilford FP4+ Emulsion Damage

That's a possibility. If you load the frames with the film notch at the top then the damage would be at the other end of the sheet if your scenario is correct - easy to check on your neg. :o
