  1. Re: Walking around Midtown neighborhood, New-York City

Wonderful photography, Bruce. OK, I'm prejudiced for the BW version, especially the old buildings.
  2. Re: Walking around Midtown neighborhood, New-York City

You might consider taking a smaller camera. Some indoor venues like museums, theaters, etc. might not let you in with a big camera and tripod, so you would have to check it if they have that...

I agree with you. That's why I suggest giving framed prints as gifts to friends and family. Their appreciation can go a long way in filling that vacuum and making one feel they're accomplishing...

  8. Re: The F.64 BPX Back Pack does not seem to have a place for a tripod. What do people

I haven't tried it with my f64 as I carry my tripod. But you can move both pouches holding film holders to one side. That should leave enough room on the other side for a tripod.
  9. Re: New Lens Scale: How To Convert Milliseconds To Standard Camera Fractions?

I've got enough trouble remembering to remove the dark slide. But thanks for the the ideas.
  10. Re: Big snow coming to the Sierra Nevada this weekend

It's been raining here all day in central New Jersey. No chance of avalanches is predicted.
  11. Re: Your experience with "on demand" photo book printing services?

I had similar thing with Blurb when the photos came out too dark. But they let me change it for nothing and get a second printing.

Does anyone have experience with longevity with Blurb papers? ...

Re: Epson V800 vs V600 for print scanning?

I have both a V600 and V800. The V800 is overkill for scanning prints. Both machines have ICE which partially corrects for tears and dust and also color corrects automatically or manually.

  19. Re: why they remove the price after an item is sold ?

There are advantages for both the seller and buyer to eliminate the original price posted and the final sale prices:

Sellers may drop their price let's say 25% in private negotiations for a...
  20. Re: why they remove the price after an item is sold ?

The buyer may wish to resell it and not want what they paid for it published.

Does anyone know what eBay does? Do they list the final selling price assuming it was negotiated lower?
  21. Re: why they remove the price after an item is sold ?

Ad is public. Negotiations are private. Shouldn't the seller respect the buyer's negotiated price?
  22. Re: why they remove the price after an item is sold ?

Sellers may not want people to know their final selling price was lower than their original asking price.

Those long holes have sliders that raise and lower the holder to find optimum focal point. They're furnished with the V850. I found they really make a difference.
